With regards to the players on the list I don't think they were much of a dent to the wage bill, so were worth taking a chance on, unlike some of the aging Antipodeans that have come over for a well paid holiday.

Hence I'd take a bargain Ryan Bailey over an expensive Roy Asotasi for example, but neither really fall into the 'biggest blunder' category (albeit a Michael Sullivan or a Matt Rodwell might - their signings gave us hope in some dark times, but alas came to nothing)..

surely the biggest blunder was the erection of the leisure centre and the closing of one side of wilderspool stadium-leading to a 3 sided ground, no shelter from the elements, only exit at one end of ground ,capacity cut by 1/3d, leading in the long term to the wire being a second rate club,and many years in the wildernessa

Ground capacity was around 10k but home attendance was about 4.5k.
