Perhaps with Grix coming off Salary cap wit will allow us to bring in a big 13 that can shake us up a bit, offer some real go forward and possibly even an offload game.... remember those....?!?

Think everyone is pretty down right now, but at least they seem to be looking at ways to freshen the squad up. For as good as he's been for us maybe now is the right time to move Joel on, and bring in a class centre - Joel surely must be one of our better earners so should be able to bring in some quality there.

Do the back room staff count at all against the salary cap? If not maybe Grix will possibly even get time to recover enough for a part time playing role sometime in the future.

He won't count on the salary cap at all as back room staff.

If he ever pulls on a shirt I believe his full annual salary would then count on the cap, although maybe only a certain % of his salary may count as he has a split role....?

The Perfomance role allows him to remain part of the club and gives him some security, plus allows him to have his testimonial - pretty good stuff from the club there I think. Grix possibly to play part time for someone like Halifax, build back up to match fitness after not playing for over 18 months, then potentially move back to us for 2017....? He'd be 31 at that point I think so still time left on the clock.

Waiting for a nerve to kick in? jesus that doesn't sound good, isn't sean long still waiting for his to start working again, how long has it been since he had his face operated on?

Beenn thinking that he could have been the light at the end of the tunnel. A glimmer of hope that he could give a lift to a pack that had little grunt (in defence particularly) as the year progressed it became obvious it was not getting any nearer. Did a lot of work off the ball and I will never forget that fein to kick for his try again Leeds. I wish him all the best and glad he will still be around.

This is our biggest loss. Although we actually lost him 12 months ago. He's one of our best players when fit, one of the leagues most underrated players. We may not see him play for us again. I hope we do, soon!

Always improved the team when he was playing. Truly a career blighted by injury. What I think of as a "proper" loose forward. Really hope he gets to play again.

Oh no. This is really saddening. Poor lad, going to miss watching him play. He's always been reliable for a good game when he actually played. He was on fire at the back end of 2013. Not happy we've let him go.

To me the players we have missed most this season are Russell & Bridge.

Even when he was on the field this years I'd rather he wasn't. Yes, I miss the Bridge from a year or two ago, but not based on his appearances this season.

Coming home to Fax, reading the comments if he has a bit of luck with injuries we have got a top player.

I'm surprised but if he gets better he is a belter of a player. One of my favourites. At the moment though he can't actually run due to his injury and until this nerve kicks in he will be fairly useless.

If he can get himself fit, I'm not sure we've seen the back of him completely. Wouldn't surprise me to see him back at the club in 2017. Here's hoping.

When Grix was fit and on form the whole side seemed to function better... His injuries have been a real shame.

If he would have been lucky enough to have a relatively injury free career, he would have almost certainly been coveted as one of the best 13's of his generation i think.

He has everything.. great hands, strength, speed, crunching defense.. he even has a brilliant sidestep.. remember him scoring a great try against Bradford at the HJ quite a few years back.... He sidestepped through the line and went round the FB to score under the sticks.... brilliant try... pure athlete.

I hope he somehow manages to stay fit for the rest of his career.. one this is for sure.. if he stays fit all next year at fax, he will be back in SL the year after... i REALLY hope he manages to.

He still had a foot brace on at the Catalans game, so it doesn't look likely that he is planning a comeback as of yet. It unfortunately could be a career ending injury, but if it isn't and he regains full fitness, he would certainly be Super League standard.

Laithwaite who had the same injury seems to be ahead of Grix now and walking without any surgical appliance.

He had the plate removed on Friday from his leg. Apparently this is the reason he hasn't been able to run. I expected crutches so it's a definite positive that he is already walking on it.

That's good to know. Hopefully he can progress quickly from now on.
