like someone has said, the new capacity will be 15000. i THINK there is also plans in place to fill the other 2 corners in if crowds continue to rise over the next few years, which will take the capacity to 18,000 i think.

| I think the next stage of development after the 2 corners will be a 2nd tier of hospitality effectively in the roof of the north stand as this is where they will get the biggest returns from the investment. (or so AG has mentioned previously anyway). When this will be though I have no idea.

Hopefully sooner rather than later, but I guess it depends on success on the field bringing more people into the stadium who want corporate facilities

| Shame this wasn't already done for this season, the Saints game, Wigan cup game, cup semi-final and our league game later in the year could all get 15k.
Can't wait to see this finished. Will definantly stop the place looking like an IKEA stadium. It will be class.

From a fans point of view the next stage will be to fill in the NW corner (by the shop). The final corner would be the easiest to fill but that were all the media setup shop for the big games so they aint gonna like more mortal supporters pinching their butty wagon space.

Think before they added a tier on they would just extend the terracing back above the concourse. Presumed it was designed to be easily expanded like this - fair enough it includes the expense of removing the roof but certianly easier than adding a tier. THe south stand would be brilliant if it went further back.

| Pity they didn't make the south stand the same height as the west. It looks to be about 4 steps lower.
as for the north west corner-this would be ideal for away seated fans as we saw on Saturday, they were only allocated the end block of the north.
Will only be done if it is needed though.

if you look closely at the south stand it has the potential to be made bigger at the back already, there is a space between where the terraces end and the outside wall which would fit another 1,500 without having to remove and replace the roof. next time you go just look where the wall is on the outside compared to where the terraces end. it's plainly visable from where i stand in the west stand (i often wonder what is actually in that space currently, is it a secret passage a la harry potter?)

I'm confused. Do you mean the outside wall of the terrace or the outside wall of the entrance? From memory the outside of the terracing doesn't go back as far as the edge of the stand. This space could be used but the roof would have to be removed and replaced as all the supports are currently behind the terrace area.

i've not explained myself very well, sorry.
if you look at the very back of the stand, where the big screen is currently, there is a space between the wall that the big screen is on and the outside wall of the stadium. take into account how high the screen is, if you remove the inner wall you'd have enough space for about 3-4 more steps of terrace. (that makeseven less sense i'm sure!) it would make the south stand as deep as the west (nearly).

I think I know what you mean. But the supports for the roof are behind that wall so you would have to take them out and replace the roof (i just checked on google street view). Good job neither of us are architects isn't it?

| The back wall of the stand is the current outside of the terracy area. The area between this and the outside of the footprint is the support for the roof

| What we need is a Camp Nou, simple. Mega high, 100,000 capacity, like watching subbuteo.
Sort it Gatcliffe, and Broomhead - I don't think it's anything to do with you but your name is funny and should appear more for that reason.

Going off topic slightly - Has anyone actually seen the Broomhandle Mauser sober? Saw him ballooned again at Quins!
Back on topic - how will the stadium work affect the turnstiles to the South? Only the West side open?

For those speculating about other possible expansions, this is fairly recent (last December):
www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/new ... s_Stadium/
Interestingly, looks like the plan to fill the corners in advanced pretty quickly as this was said at that time:
"We could also fill in the corners but you have to be creative in how you do that"
Rather than extra terracing on the South, looks like this is more favoured:
"we could put lounges and seating above the standing area in the South Stand. That’s expensive, but it can be done because I’ve got the drawings" - i.e. making the top of it look a bit like the top of the North / East.
There certainly is a large space above the South concourse - you can see it if you look up whilst standing near the kiosks as the ceiling has been removed.

| Lets not get carried away with expansions yet, we need to be filling 15,000 every week before we expand to 18,000.
There's no point having empty seats. We didn't make 12,000 in 8 of our 10 games so far this year, but i can see a full house with Wigan in town in a few weeks. We've got Bradford, Wakefield and Wigin left and Bradford and Wakey won't bring all that many. I personally don't see the point in expanding when we're not making 12,000 in 10 of our 13 SL home games.
We had Wigin, Swinton and Keighley in't CC and only one of those games reached over 12,000. Not good enough to expand IMO.

yet weve had at least 10,000 in every single league game i think, and the reason it hasnt sold out is purely down to the lack of away numbers. i would bet that only wigan and saints bring at least 1,000 and they are the two fixtures that sell out. the next best is probably hull kr with about 7-800, the rest probably below 500. poor away following is a big factor. the nort east and south are pretty much full every game.
