As I've posted elsewhere I think Tony has made a rod for his own back by his own criticism of the Club Call.

However reading his comments about the previous absention he seems to be saying he didn't influence the decision.

Either way if we do go for the winner of Hudds v Hull we will very much have changed our tune as a club. I actually think we will come across as hypocritical if we don't abstain again, especially as we abstained on the vote to keep it.

End of the day if we want to go a step further and win it then we will have to beat who is in front of us.

I'd rather we just abstained again to be consistent and show we don't fear anyone.

irrespective of last week I very much doubt that Leeds will be chosen in a sudden death play off....Their recent record at HJ is also very good ignoring last weeks result, where as Huddersfield's record there isn't.

I quite like the fact that it's on Sunday rather than Friday night or Saturday. Whether he admits it or not, Tony Smith will know who we are playing as soon as the final hooter goes at Headingley on Friday. He then has an extra day and a half to start preparing for the semi before our opponents are told who they're playing against. Small advantage margins like that can make a difference.

If Hull win, then yeah he will. I'm still convinced we'll pick the lowest ranked though no matter who it is, so if Huddersfield win tonight then we'll be playing the winner of Leeds V Saints.

The fact that everyone will be guessing while we're preparing is good though.

I don't think anyone will be guessing. I'm amazed that there's anyone who thinks we will pick anybody other than the lowest ranked team.

Personally I think that you shouldn't be able to pick the same team that you played in the first weekend of the playoffs. So if Leeds beat Saints we have to play either Hull or Huddersfield, only if the losers in week 1 go on to lose again in week 2 should the highest ranked team get a choice.

Playing the same team twice in two weeks of the playoffs is quite ridiculous, once you beat a team it should be impossible to meet them again until the final.

But what if Hull win ? They have beaten us twice convincingly ,but TS says to be the best you need to beat the best .

People still thinking Huddersfield?

Looks like Hull have already had their Mad Monday, and it stretched into Tuesday, Wednesday and is still in full swing come Thursday. How on earth did a team that can be this shambolic beat us in the semi?

Say what you like about Hull's defending but you can't take anything away from Huddersfield there. They have well and truly come to the play off party tonight. Hopefully they'll be as good against Wigan next week because there is surely no doubt now that our opponents are playing tomorrow.

Does it matter??....Simple fact is, if we play to our best we will beat whoever we choose to play. It might sound arrogant, but I think most neutral observers feel the same - Even Nathan Brown admitted as such a few weeks ago after we beat them.

The only side I feel can challenge us at our best is Wigan - The game at the HJ this year was the best game of RL played in our comp all season and we had to take a lot of pressure to see them off.

Just choose the lowest ranked side and play to our best, if not, and we get beat, then just take it on the chin and admit we wasn't good enough on the day.
