| Quote ="sally cinnamon"Wire fans always complain about Tony Smith's signings.
Solomona - injury prone, spent more time on Bradford's injury table than on the pitch
Hodgson - yes he was good a few years ago but is a 33 year old really the way forwards?
Joel Monaghan - get rid of our best winger Hicks to bring over somebody who was forced out of the NRL in disgrace'"
Really good point. Ratchford's a young player and the coaching situation at Salford this year can't be helping his development. Smith obviously sees something in him and he seems to be able to get the best out of players.

I have to say I'm more excited about Ratchford coming to us than I was when we signed Atkins.
Although most Wire fans seemed quite pleased that we were getting Atkins, I didn't really rate him, I thought he was a poor replacement for Gleeson and offered nothing other than being a big lad who ran straight. If I'm honest I saw him as the next Karl Pryce. However I have become a real Atkins fan since he has been playing for us, I think he's more Senior than Pryce, and I think his game has come on a lot under Tony Smith.
Same with Bridge who was already with us but I was ready to get rid of because I thought he was one of those lads who was hyped up as a junior but would end up being passed around clubs like Salford and Wakey once he left us, but since Smith has been here he has been top class as well.
I know if I was a young player with talent wanting to get the best out of my ability I'd be looking to play under Tony Smith without a doubt.

Same, as I've said before he seems to possess a certain flair with ball in hand that's rare in British players.
With the right guidance under TS he could turn out to be a great signing, and his versatility means he can play a number of key positions.

| i have watched steff now since he came through the ranks at salford and think he would be an ideal replacement for when hodgson goes as for him being bone idle i see the same thing happening when you signed richie myler not saying a player never tries his best best when he goes out but steff looks as if he cant be d at times because he knows hes playing else where next season saying that he got a good hat trick of tries 2 weeks ago i would hate to lose him at salford i think hes a very talented lad

| With Ratchford, it all depends on his wage. If he's on a moderate wage and get improvements as he improves then it can only be a good thing.
If he's on huge contact (which i doubt as he is unproven at the highest level for me( then it could be very bad...

Just Googled schrodinger's cat and didn't understand it. How can a cat be dead and alive at the same time?

| I think I'd rather Chase of the pair, and really don't see the point in bringing them both in, unless the plan is for Ratchford to play in the Centres, which would be a disappointment as I don't think he offers more than our current crop, and that's not including a thriving academy with Evans etc knocking on the door.
As others have mentioned, I view Chase as the most 'Briers-esque' of the pair and I think if he signed we'd be able to easily adapt. However it begs the question, why do we need a player in the style of Briers? Yes he's been a Warrington Hero and will be sadly missed when he leaves/packs it in, but I don't think we should label him as the ideal player, when we can bring in real top quality halfbacks and simply adapt.

| I'm really not getting this Chase/Briers comparison. As far apart you can get when it comes to halfback play.

I agree, Briers more of an organiser/creator, Chase more dynamic.

Compare them all you want. Chase is contracted to Cas until the end of the 2013 season, then it will be the NRL for him.

A good half back pairing then, one is a creator that looks to take on the line on a regular basis and the other an organiser with a great kicking and passing game.
In an ideal world i'd certainly take a Briers/Chase partnership ahead of anything to do with Ratchford.

He must of had a plethora of offers when he left St George, I'm surprised he came to SL, honest.

Money talks and Warrington have more of it than anybody else plus have salary cap exemption.
