Can’t see how he would of had a contract offer having not played. Thing is has he earned a contract offer from our club since he as had game time.

Wouldn’t be happy with Gelling as first choice centre to be honest. If he can come in and be a squad man I’d be all for it, but we need two better centres ahead of him and expecting one of them to be Burrell at this stage would be a gamble.

Gelling is a very average player really and isn’t enough of an upgrade on your other centres (if at all) to warrant signing him. There’s a reason why he ended up at Widnes.

He ended up at Widnes because he got a good SL contract. It's that simple.

Gelling has never played in SL for Widnes, he’s never had the chance to either. They got relegated after he signed and he could have reneged on the deal but chose not to. I think it’s pretty obvious why.

I was very specific and as I said 'simple' about how he ended up at Widnes in contrast to your initial post...nowhere did I say he played at a SL level for Widnes.

Not sure how i feel about Gelling to be honest, but if we do sign him i'll wait to see him play before passing judgement. I've spat my dummy out before about players i'm not keen on and been proven wrong so i'll wait and see

His partnership at Wigan with Charnley was very good. I'm sure Charnley would be happy with the signing. (if true)

I’d have Toby King ahead of him, assuming Atkins leaves and Goodwin too we would only have Burrell as another option - too early to say for him. My point really is if we have to recruit a new starting centre, I want a better one than that.

I see Mamo as utility cover with the potential to push Lineham, especially, for a starting spot (No bad thing as I think Lineham needs to keep on his toes) with Full Back & Wing his best areas - I'm just not sure he has the size & defensive capability to be a centre full time, but he can do a job for us there and is a valuable member of the squad.

Don’t know wether to laugh at this or not, but Nosey Parker has got us as being in for Luke Gale for next season.Leeds and Toronto also after him.

Why would we want Gale with Widdop coming next season or is there a twist in the tale.
