The club have made a commercial decision which their prerogative.
The only factors that bother me are:-
1. Will someone vamping near me affect my health?
2. Will someone vamping near me cause annoyance to me?
As far as I can ascertain the health risks in vapeing are infinitessimal compared to smoking tobacco so I assume passive vamping holds little risk.
As an ex smoker I find being in the vicinity of someone smoking tobacco extremely annoying. If I find being in the vicinity of someone vapeing also annoying I will simply stay away which those espousing extreme anti views can also do.

Raises more questions than answers:-
1. "We initially introduced the vaping ban as a ‘just in case’ measure, but are now happy to reverse this as more news on the industry comes to light." .................. but the jury is still out as the only news is "nobody knows"
2. "we are pleased to be able to encourage them to consider switching to alternatives by allowing vaping in certain areas of the stadium" ........ All articles so far has been that the ban has been lifted throughout the stadium. Are we having vaping section or will there be a partial ban ?
3. "recent UK figures from the Office of National Statistics have shown that fears that they may ‘lure’ non-smokers into smoking are unfounded."...... the ONS figures showed that almost al vapor were either smokers or those wanting to quit smoking......ALMOST ALL means there are some being encouraged to taking up vaping from scratch.
4. "The club also confirmed it would continue to enforce its no-smoking policy just as ‘strenuously’ as in previous seasons" ....... good luck to those charged with policing it. Some vapes are obvious but some of them were designed to look like cigarettes and from 20-30 yards away ?

Back pedaling. They would have mentioned it from the start if that wasn't the case. They probably didn't expect there would be so many people opposed to it.
On the subject of marketing e-cigarettes, a couple of people on here have mentioned that they thought of e-cigarettes as a way of quitting the real ones and that they couldn't see non-smokers taking up vaping. I asked my 13 year old son for the smoking habits for kids in his year and he reckons that there are as many people using e-cigarettes as there are proper cigarettes. I asked the same question to my son in law, who is at University, and he says there aren't as many vapors as smokers, but he knows at least a dozen people who use e-cigarettes without ever being a proper smoker before. |

40+ a day smoking.
others I know immediately make another roley as a habit when they finished smoking the one they just had.

I witnessed a steward informing a fan that he couldn`t use the E Cig that he was inhaling on the South Stand terrace yesterday.
Apparently there are designated areas for those who wish to use E Cigs.........Hence this is good news for all those who stated that they didn`t want to stand/sit adjacent to some one vaping.
