The 2 injuries on Saturday could prove to be a blessing in disguise as I think the first 13 picks itself now. Smith doesn't need to decide who to leave out in Carney, Hicks and Riley.

The biggest decision Tony Smith now has to make is who to play on the bench. Does he go with Rauhihi coming back from injury without a first team game in a long while, or does he go with Mitchell, who has been playing well in his absense.

For me, providing Rau is fit i would go with 2 props (Cooper and Rauhihi), a utility player who can play hooker, stand off, back row or Centre (V Anderson) and a utility player who can play Second Row, Centre or Wing (Johnson). that means every position will be covered if we have an injury like Saturday.

Likely to be Monas & Briers at 7&6 with Clarke starting hooker with Anderson spelling Clarke.

Have clarke in the half back roll and monaghs at hooker and keep swapping we got the forwards to grind out metres in mozza and gazza and then u got the likes of clarke monaghs briers and mathers interchanging like against leeds with bridges footwork and the tallness of matt king with two quick wingers , personally i would have the squad sat down and have the wire v wigan game early on in season look at all the positives ,, but would u risk grix for saturday even though hes torn is muscle , look at saints they risked paul wellens against wigan last froday and he had a broken hand , just a fought ??

I am sorry that Carney got injured as he seems a real nice bloke and was doing some good things. But I have to say that I am glad Riley is back. I feel he has earned his spot in the team for Saturday and I hope he does well.
