i was gonna say, i wasn't a big fan of walker, but recent weeks he's been a lot better with more responsiblity, and i thought he was fantastic tonight, couldn't fault him, probably helped riley dean.

Matt davis as well, i think he played about 60 minutes, which is big for him as a bit part player, he led the line very well as well.

Johnson had probably one of his better games for us as well.

Louis Johnson seems to have been round for a bit but I dont really see much coming from him. Doro looks lively.

Proud of the young pups, we had chances to win that game. Brand should be slotting in Sita all day with that pass on the 68th minutes, unfortunate.

Thewlis looks very composed and mature for such a young lad, very impressive performance from him. Walker, Davis and Patten stud up out there, considering the majority of the players haven’t played a game for 6 months they did exceptionally well.

Riley Dean, Doro and Ellis Longstaff really caught the eye also, pleasing to see.

you know what i'd like, dont know if its possible, but if we could get monas to come do a couple of weeks with clark and walker, like we used to get joey working with our halves.

I think they allplayed well, thewlis, Dean and longstaff are my picks, all 3 were exceptional and have a bright future in the game. I thought brand played well overall but he really should have gone wide to sita for what would have been the winning score. If Dean grounded the ball early in the second half we would have done it.

We were gassed near the end and were very unlucky in a lot of areas. Great effort from the whole team again. Patton, Dean and walker organised us well. The extra fitness and size got Salford through in the end. Throw a couple of old heads in with that side say hill and hughes and we would have won it IMO. Not worth the risk though. If the returning players match the effort and work rate of these lads we will have no problem on Saturday.

Good call. Walker is getting much better I must admit but the little kick to give them a penalty was really stupid. Things like that just give me a niggling doubt about him.

Great performance this team were certainly game. Generally agree with the accolades being handed out to Thewliss Longstaff Dean and Doro. Walker Davis Patton were excellent.

A little bit of over enthusiasm coupled with a hint of naiavity cost us the points but we should all be proud of the effort and commitment shown today

If we thought we had a problem fitting both Ashton & Ratchford in the backline, how do we fit Thewlis in ? Hope he can play centre.

Superb effort, and there was enough opportunity to have gained a win. What pleased me most was the look of disappointed on their faces. Even though they did extremely well, they weren't happy with the loss. Bodes well for the future.

Immensley proud of the young and not so young lads who played tonight. A little more composure and we'd have won that.

Mega pleased with that. Saw alot of talent but I think we also saw some players who will never make it at SL level, the type players that play for the reserves. You can bring em in every now and again to fill a gap but thats about it.

On the whole though the majority of youngsters looked top drawer.

I don’t mind a player having a bit of attitude, he isn’t the finished product but if he carries on progressing at the same rate he will be a belter!

I agree players need a bit of attitude but the line between attitude and penalty matchine is a fine one. He's done well thr last few weeks, he attacks the line well. His passi g is still a little slow and obvious for me but he varies the direction well. Cut out the silly stuff and aim to be an 8/10 player week in, week out and let's see where that takes him. He could definitely go on to be great he's still young. He's still got plenty to work on though for me.

I think a few players looked a bit out of their depth but that's not surprising and I dont want to put names to that statement because it's not really fair at this stage. There was loads of potential on show from all of the young lads.

Great shout that FMC. What a player MM was, dont know if he's still coaching but any 9 would improve their game massively with his guidance.

Great performance by the young lads . Doro, thewlis ,Dean all good . Thought Ellis Robson was fantastic again , solid and just goes about his job really well.

I'm not sure what Monaghan could teach Clark. Arguably one of the best hookers in the world

My thoughts exactly. Danny has a great teacher in Daryl as Matty does in Ratch.

I think penalty machine would be very harsh. The best players push to the edge, sometimes it is a bit past the edge. I’m not saying he is the best (yet).

My point was a general one rather than one aimed specifically at Danny walker.

10 out of 10 for enthusiasm, and not a little skill.
Thewliss was very very good.
Impressed by Longstaff, Dean and Doro.
Roebuck did pretty good considering his lack of game time.
Patton showed some real clever stuff, although I'd have gone for 2 points with about 12 mins to go. Minor gripe only. Also maybe some high balls to the corners for Sita and Roebuck would have been productive. On the whole he stepped up.
Davis played well and showed some good leadership. Luis Johnson gave it a real go too.
Shame Robson is going as he put a real shift in. Good luck to the lad at Ottowa.
Frustrated with a couple of the more experienced guys giving away needless penalties. (I know Walker gets some praise on here - and rightly so - but there are some clear areas he needs to work on).

I also think a mention is needed to Sita - clearly TOTALLY out of favour and surely his leadership in the forwards would have been more useful than out on the wing - but he did not the give me the impresson of sulking.
As has been mentioned elsewhere, the writing appears to be on the wall for him and Latu.
With BMM going I'd have thought we'd need that type of impact from the bench.

Anyway, back on topic, well done guys even though it's a loss (It could actually work in our favour - gets rid of the '10 wins in a row' hype).

No. Monaghan is in the past. A damned fine SL hooker, but let's not put him on too high a pedestal.
Clark is a former MoS. I doubt he needs Monaghan's pearls of wisdom, at this stage of his career. Clark's understudies can learn from Clark. It really is that simple.
After all, the bringing in of Johns each warm weather training didn't exactly rip up many trees, did it?

Thewlis looks a gem. Robson looks like he could do a job in SL. Longstaff, Dean and Doro impressive too. Brand will benefit from some 1 on 1 coaching from Inglis.
