If there was a spear tackle by wigan in that game, by all means ban the offenders for a long time, but as far as I sawthere was nothing remotely like a spear.

Without re watching the game I remember a number of 'facials' dished out by wire players - but I suppose because thjey weren't done by an annoying player then they are ok?

From what i can make out it seems to be;

A) Wigan players not actually doing anything wrong but 'pushing boundaries' which actually sounds like a good thing.

B) looking like ratboy?

While on the other hand warrington it seems were playing a game if tic rugby.

Ah ok, I see your position now. It's wrong when a Wigan player commits an offence and they should be punished, but it's acceptable when a Warrington player commits an offence and it's something you positively condone. Gotcha.

That's just a reiteration of your earlier point isn't it? Retalisation should not be punished by the RFL.

If Tomkins was using foul play then he should be penalised, [ujust like any player[/u. I'm not the type of fan to say foul play should be condoned just because it's one of our players (hint hint). He was obviously penalised for holding Westwood down, but then Westwood committed a foul of his own-- a more serious one at that. Even if the original penalty stayed with Warrington, Westwood should have been warned or binned. The point remains that retaliating to being held down--or any other sort of winding up, foul or not--with a punch should not go unpunished.

Seriously, if you were a fan of my team going on about how foul play is ok when committed by our players I'd be embarrassed.

And this is what's great about Wigan now. Under madge with his ' push the boundaries of the rules ' someone is always going to push them too far.

For a considerable time now that's been Sam Tomkins. if Tomkins should be vexed with anyone its not Westwood, its Super coach Maguire, for encouraging his house tactics sticking him at full back and in general not treating the kid right.

You can't tell me His on field niggle his high emotions (crying after a losss) and his all round body language looks good ,and is helping his game?

The sooner he is coached by a coach like Tony Smith for example the better.

That statement is a direct insult to Michael Maguires coaching manual. And especially the section "foul play - how to do it on the sly"

I fear Westwoods actions hurt Wigan more than Sam Tomkins. And all those teams that want to play rugby league football first and foremost will not be sitting back waiting for a ref to blow up 50minutes into a game.

Look on the bright side you may have to resort to playing rugby now.
