So is this Powell's doing if it is he's going down in my opinion of him or is it the club's decision

Ellis scores a hat-trick in the reserves running some excellent lines which is sadly lacking in the first team.
Right you’re going to Hull Ellis as I’m going to continually select the most underperforming second row in the league.

If it is Powell’s decision then I’m going to have to change my mind on him. I have been a big fan of let’s see what he does next season but for me this is a terrible decision given our incumbent 2nd are just garbage. Holmes from the get go is nothing like the bloke that played for Cas and as for Currie I have no more words for him.

Daryl Powell doesn’t rate him as a second rower….so you can take it from that that he’ll be a good addition to your side. Raw of course but I’d much prefer him in our squad and should’ve been a constant in our 17 this season IMO.

A player with loads of aggression and no shortage of ability. Basically the exact opposite of Oliver Holmes.

I really hope he goes well for you guys, it may get some much needed changes done here, well I say that but probably more wishful thinking.

This is genuinely a staggering decision. He/we are losing the plot rapidly. The way he has called out this young man together with Riley Dean is nothing short of a disgrace. Player with raw talent that needed nurtured instead we smash his confidence and treat him with contempt. I have had enough

I've been backing Powell and still do, but got to say this is very disappointing considering the performances of our 2 current second rows.

Maybe Matt Peet was right after all.

If this turns into a permanent signing, I think the old end of an era Wilderspool scarf will be consigned to the sock drawer and I'll find something else to do.

I don’t quite buy in to the regard Longstaff is held on here as much as most, but his time out of the side when Currie & Holmes have been so disappointing is strange - there must be more to it surely?

Either way 3 weeks getting some first team experience at Hull will do him no harm.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this a permanent move, Pete Riding will be behind this move and it could be the 3rd highly rated youngster to move from Warrington to Hull in the last year.

If this turns to a full time deal, it could be the worst of the Powell failures. Cooper is approaching the end, King is on huge money but this is a kid who has shown great promise, plays tough and has 12-14 years in front of him. He’s not a world beater, but in a good system, with the right leadership, there’s no reason he can’t be. Letting him go would be an absolute disgrace, and the fans should get answers as to why. Another ‘bad apple’ whitewash won’t suffice on this.

We need our juniors to have a chance and to feel like they have the faith of the club, or just wrap up the academy now.

I remember feeling this way when Jonathan Davies went back to union. When a club legend departs it feels like the end of the world but you always end up coming back to Wire.

The Emporer surely cannot believe that Currie, Holmes, Davies are a better option than Longstaff, because they have proven that on current form, they are not.

Fed up with seeing Powell walking round with no clothes on whilst thinking he's wearing some sort of magical suit....and fed up with him picking on Dean & Longstaff.

I could be wrong as I’ve tried to erase as much of this season from my mind as possible but didn’t Holmes get suspended for 2 games after Leeds and we won the next two?

Didn’t he get one and then appealed and the RFL did us a favour and made it two? Powell made a ‘frivolous’ appeal - which shows
how much he rates him which in turn really calls Powell’s abilities into question.

He did get 2 after an appeal. Unfortunately, he has been so anonymous in every game since, he doesn't even do anything to get himself banned.

Couldn't agree more..the fact he as 12 years plus left in him the last thing we want to do is give hull a sniff of having him and any other club for that matter
