| Unfortunately, it was one of those games where the players thought they could play at 75% and get the win- which they did. Thing is, we aren't going to increase our attendences playing like that and the next time we play 'lower teams' (although Hull KR are descent), the floating supporter probably won't bother turning up.

| The try we conceded on the right wing in the first half was remeniscent of Russell’s defensive errors.
I’ve been in Patton’s corner before by he faltered too many times for me today. Hopefully more game time will improve his decision making. Kicking it out when we were 20m out made no sense.
Got to be able to win when you have the whistle against you... and it was good to get the 2 points... but that guy was pants.

| I though Austin would get a red at first glance. Appeared to go in to the player on the floor with his left elbow. He may have been going in to knock the ball out though.
I thought Hill KR came with a plan to shut down the offload which they did very well. They got numbers in the tackle and kicked for a scrum st the end of every set to get a bit of a breather.

| Quote ="rubber duckie"Scrappy and actually glad when the game finished. Not a Stella performance and even Austin wasn't great.
The positive we can take is we won when we were poor and there's shed loads of improvement that can be made.
Picks: Ratchford and Livett
Disappoints: J Clark, Austin, Hill, Tasi, BMM although that latter two didn't get many minutes.'"
Tasi a disappointment? Did you actually go to the game?

| Not sure what Austin was trying to do when the line was beckoning and he stopped to look for a pass? He was a disappointment today for me. Without Charnley we would not have the 2 points. Great defending and his 90m try.

| Tomkins in hospital thanks to knees to the head by Austin, now out for god knows how long, thanks very much.Should have been a red then you down to 12. Then Austin puts in an absolutely blatant forward pass in the build up to the try on half-time. Ref bottled it both times. I know these things happen, but they shouldn,t. Not saying Austin meant it, I am sure he didn,t.But if the official had done his job, I think you would have lost and deservedly so. We are not happy.

When some one runs the ball in about twice and makes 1-2 twice then is replaced...albeit not his doing...I'd day that was disappointing.
Yes I did go but if you saw it differently I'm open to read your version of events rather than you just ridicule and say nothing. Why bother to post anything?

I'm not making a judgement on the Austin incident until I've seen video evidence. As the nearest fan was around 25m away, none of us can be certain as to what happened. Even on this forum there is confusion as to whether it involved knees or elbows.

Well I was stood around about 6 people with great rugby knowledge(you weren't there obviously!),and each one thought tasi performed very well.

That's fine Moe. Perhaps I'm harsh on him. However the team collectively was disappointing....so thank heavens we've a week off to learn how to beat Giants without Austin....and Tasi might be the answer.

| What a tedious match. Not sure if ir was a) team believed their own publicity
b) the ptb was slower than Snaly McSnail
c) The Steeden ball isn’t that good after all
d) the players insisted on passing to Tom Lineham’s invisible twin who was generally standing 2 metres behind the visible one
e) the ref had never been to a game of rugby league before

Cooper for half back. We have cover in the front row.

| There's some poor footage on sky. Whether the tackle is complete or not is irrelevant. McGuire is the nearest Rovers player and he is apoplectic as is Drinkwater. The Rovers physio comes straight on too. Looks like Austin elbows the back of Tomkins head. Looking at a long ban i reckon.
We look a different outfit this year and could go well injuries permitting.
Don't mind Wire good luck for the rest of the season

Well, he got tomkins before tomkins could get him.
Theres nothing there is there. The ref didnt give anything, the kr players didnt react or run in on response to the hit.

| Just looks like an aggressive flop. If that is all the footage the RFL have they are going to have a difficult job being objective. In any case it's nothing that Tomkins hasn't dished out before so he can hardly complain.

You must have watched a different version to me, because the one I've seen McGuire is playing on till Jack Hughes picks the loose ball up, then starts moaning at the ref.
There's bugger all in it, it was an accident.
And I'm Joel knows the difference between accidents and intentionally hurting an opposition player.

| Said at the time there was nothing in it. The tackle wasn't complete, Tomkins was about to undoubtedly get up and continue his run, Austin stopped him. Describing it as a flop paints it as something worse - a flop is a player coming in late on top of an already tackled player. This wasn't that. He completed the tackle.

| Yes clearly nothing in it. An innocent flop which leaves a player concused in hospital. It's not Austin's knee so what does make contact with his head?
By your lots logic any player shooting Les Boyd would have been justified.

Its rather hard to tell from that footage, don't you think? He was legitimately allowed to tackle Tomkins. Yes, it was a full on hit, but when isn't it in rugby league??? Nowt to do with our lots logic. I was sat just in front of where the tackle happened. I don't believe it was malicious. But Christ, he wasn't about to let Tomkins get up and carry on yomping up field.
Wish your lot all the best this year BTW. McGuire is older than a Conker tree but he's still classy.

He's justified in making the tackle. He's reckless though. It looks like h e goes across the back of his head with his elbow as his knees seem to miss.
The logic i refer to is some of the comments justifying Tomkins being hurt.
Good luck to y ou. Hill is the best prop in the league.

| I was also sat level with the incident and couldn't see anything wrong from the view from the opposite direction from the camera. Tompkins was initially stopped, but wasn't tackled and Austin dove on to him to complete the tackle. I didn't see any problem. Strange how it was initially being described on here by the opposition as Tompkins being kneed in the head.
