Even on the Leeds board they're saying Watkins shouldn't be there. Couldn't Joel have made it in the centres ?

As Midge Ure once said 'this means nothing to me'. I know the value Joel has brought to the team this year and how he has not only continued his try scoring but has become a really important leader for us. It would have perhaps been nice for him to be formally recognised by a place in the Dream Team but I know how good he has been and that will do for me. To be honest, I can't really be bothered in engaging an an ongoing debate about injustices, bias and inter-club bickering.

Ryan Hall has got in purely on reputation. All this "World's best winger" crap from Eddie and Stevo appears to have gone to the selectors collective head. It's not like Joel scored 12 tries more than him or anything...

They've ruined the concept of selecting a dream team these past two years with pathetic 'all English' selections.

How Escare and Joel Monaghan haven't made it is beyond me.

To be fair he often gets into the Aussie world team of the seasons too.

All they had to do was pick a full back, two wingers, two centres, a stand off, a scrum half, one prop, one hooker, two 2nd rowers and a loose forward.

And now all hell has broken loose.

Not that i'm saying joel shouldn't be in there, but you arguing based on tries scored is abit silly. It's not just tries scored. Most of the tries hall scores are tries only a few wingers can score, and he also does alot of work bringing the ball out from the back like an extra forward. Monaghan scores alot of good tries too, but leeds have scored alot less points than warrington and because of the way they attack (or don't attack) the inwger get basically no freebies, so every try is a try that has to be scored e.g. CC final, when he pretty much won leeds the game.

But yeah, you go right ahead and argue based on tries scored.

No one is saying Hall isnt a quality winger... he just hasnt been as good this season as Monaghan.

Monaghan has spent a good period of the season filling in as a centre, where he was also still our best back.

We could say mongahan scores tries that only he and maybe a few other players can score... he also does alot of donkey work and takes the pressure off the forwards.

They are probably both very similar wingers attribute wise.... Monaghan has just been better this season than Hall.

Ryan Hall plays on the left wing. Joel Monaghan plays right wing for Wire.....Although as you say he has also more than adequately covered the right centre position too.

The player who has kept Joel out of the "Dream Team" is Tommy Makinson.

It's not much of a dream team if only English players are being selected. If being English is the main criteria then they may as well not bother as it is becoming a farce. Escare and Joel should have been certainties. Of Leeds' centres I would have picked Joel moon over Watkins and what is ablett doing in there?

Not too bothered if I'm honest, yes I'm baffled Monaghan isn't there but it's not important.

But of course it would have been a diplomatic embarrassment if Clark hadn't been included after Warrington paid all that money for him so no doubt a few calls were made to make sure the Dream Team selection went the right way.

Joel proved yesterday that he deserved a dream team place. Hat trick for Monas last home game at HJ what a sensational player we have. Two fingers to the dream team who cares, he will always be in mine.
