I didn't notice that, but although I don't regard the WCC all that highly - qualifying for it is far more important than actually winning it in my opinion - if we were to win the GF I'd be desperate for us to win that too, simply because we all know its the one thing Widnes fans still feel they have over us and I want them to have no more straws to clutch at.

I went to that game* wanted Widnes to lose obviously. That was a good Canberra side that Widnes beat, credit to them.
Seem to remember Jiffy nearly having his head taken off by a shocking clothesline.

| Lets be honest, Widnes fans are out of the same stock as Warrington fans or any other rugby league fans, all just low income, lower class scallies that dress in tracksuits and stuff they've bought cheap in Primark or down the market.
If you're talking about fashion then you need to start going to RU matches, where you see people dressed properly in tailored suits from Saville Row, or if you're dressing down its Duchamp, Hugo Boss or Armani.
I bet some of these RL fans have never had one bespoke item made in their lives.

| Hugo Boss is currently the definitive scally label. So definitive that certain bars in Liverpool won't let you in wearing it because its seen as trouble. True story that.

| Oh don't say the plebs have moved in on Hugo Boss as well, it's bad enough that they got Lacoste and Burberry.
Lets hope PM Cameron can sort things out before we have them all wearing Turnbull & Asser shirts.

Burberry is back with us now after it was degraded for ten years by scallywag central.
It's Luke for the poorer scal' or Hugo Boss for those who can afford it, for the 2012 scal' now.

Aaaah, but those Range Rover tailgate parties in Twickers' carpark, for those Autumn internationals against the Antipodes, in the rain. A Barbour everytime. Plus, if you spill your Sauvignon Blanc over it, it'll come up a treat with baby wipes.

I'd be more concerned about the spilt wine, the wine I drink is more expensive than the jacket.

| Widnes fans thinking they're casual because they wear Henleys with their Jack Jones/Police/Voi jeans. Embarrassing.
I've recently been to London for a shopping trip so I'm feeling extra smart now I'm decked out in A.P.C, BAPE, Norse Projects and Sunspel. Still, it doesn't matter how far you travel, the best two shops in the country are in the north: End Clothing and Oi Polloi.

Yeah we used to do stuff like that back at Oxford.
Couple of quid for a bottle of Pinot Grigio down the local Sainsbergs, Rupert's old man was on the board so he cut us a special deal. Remember when we all got kicked out for dropping our trousers at the checkout girls, the look on the security man's face when we told him who Rupies dad was...chortle

Surely, it's SainsBUGS. That's how Tamara and Josh (before all the lower middle class started calling their issue, Joshua)always refer to it.

'twas a Tuesday, SAM, and was one of THE great Wilderspool nights
Wids will always whinge that they'd
partied to much (they got beat by a rampant Sonny Nickle inspired Sheffield Eagles on the Sunday)
suffered 2 broken arms that night.

That was one of my first ever games, I think it was about my 2nd or 3rd game, great atmosphere but I think I was too young and new to really appreciate that watching Wire wasn't always like that. Greg Mackey had just joined and gave the whole club a lift. Widnes won the WCC but then we beat them in that, went on and beat Oldham in the final, and were top of the league, my first few Wire games as a fan were a good winning streak. Then we lost to Saints, and that burst the bubble, the rest of that season was pretty forgettable apart from making Wembley.

| Fred Perry is quite a generic label these days - although I still like it because of the mod/skinhead/punk heritage - but the Perry Boys were from Manchester and Salford, not Widnes.
*EDIT* Your location suggests you're from Salford anyway, so butt out of this - it doesn't concern you!
