| I'm not sure on the capacity, but haven't Cardiff City just had a new football stadium built, something like that would be ideal, if that's circa £30k. Get it packed to the rafters, folk may even miss out, best way. MK Dons ground, Oh, I dunno.
Failing that, just pick a town, or even a village, somewhere affluent, and then like, just don't tell them. Make it, so the locals of like Towchester wake up, get invaded by common folk, and the local 'W.I.' meeting is invaded by Cockers & Co with his regatta fleece under his 2005 jersey, banging out 'Barmy Army' and blown up sheep etc.

You forget that the biggest game in USA is American Football with similarities. they hate Football because they see it as namby pamby they actually like and respect rugby players.

A maaassssive raffle I say, including all the major towns/cities in the UK, would make it abit more exciting.

So why would they want it?
You're already trying to get into an already saturated market because American football is so big.
The best places for 'expansion' are places like France and PNG, where you're not really expanding, you're giving infrastructure to a place where there is a market and hunger for rugby league already. Going to America you're onto a loser, it will never take on there.

Middlesbrough is like a bigger version of Widnes. No thanks.
Someone else(though it may have been a Yorkie)mentioned Anfield. Too close to home for us boys, hardly a weekend away.
Newcastle or Dublin for me, though i'd plump for Newcastle as the stadiums smack bang in the city centre aka Cardiff. We'd also be helping their finances(God knows they're gonna need it after relegation ).

Not at all, but why do people complain when a world class stadium and organisations are giving money to the game to play a few games there.
That's not about you don't worry. But if RFL were paid double the amount for a game there then it could be considered. However during the current climate, it's probably not a good idea. Best to least keep travel to a minimum of 2 methods (Car, train, plan)

Thats all very well but it still would never gain any sort of foothold. How does RU do over there with this respect they have?
It would be a pointless and expensive waste of time.

oh i agree, just putting that point out there.
America is a vast country but they are stuck in their ways, a lost cause.
Europe is a better market to target

| I would doubt any football team would let MM be played at there ground. No team outside the prem league will as the plays offs start a few days after.
I think that Cardiff may go for it next time its up and gets it's ass in gear. £10 million lost in cardiff this weekend.

| I'd like the RFL to show proven success at expanding the game outside of Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire first before looking at other countries.
Attendances at Harlequins and Celtic are not an encouraging endorsement of their expansionist policy so far.

| I'd actually try the far east before some of the places suggested. They have a tendency to get a craze on something and then it takes off and there's so many of them that its a good market. Football was relatively small till a decade or so ago then it boomed and now RU is getting speed in Japan.

| What about China? Just need the RFL to slip the PRC government a few quid. If they can force them to smoke, they can certainly "persuade" 80,000 government workers to turn up for a blockbusting weekend of 7 Super League matches at Beijing's Olympic Stadium. Imagine how good that would look for the neutrals watching on TV, although they might need to get some new floodlights because during the Olympic Games there seemed to be a lot of people squinting during the nighttime events.

Yep, would be good to keep this event within driving distance at least – can see attendances falling otherwise. As for a top flight footy club, some good ideas but what’s the likelihood that they’d have 7 games played on their turf over 2 days. A return to Cardiff after 2 years away could work out quite nicely for all concerned
