All i remember is I went and it was very wet & very cold and the game was crap

If I remember correctly, Domic almost got hypothermia. So did we, that was one of the most awful days I have experienced for watching rugby.

Kidwell scored though. Bonus.

my strongest memory's of the trip to barrow were almost putting a coach window through with a ball whilst trying to kick it with a broken toe,

My mate ste turning up in a denim jacket and wire shirt then drinking cans of cider for the rest of the game to try and blank out the cold.

And two gentlemen stood near us urinating into beer glasses to start off and lobbing them through the window/hole at the back of the stand,

Disgusting behaviour

right interupted, start again, the said gentlemen then started leaving these plastic glasses on the terrace and thus became a game of chicken, ove who would kick it over.

Right third attempt, several of these went over, i was partially disgusted and partially amused, felt sorry for the poor bugger down in front who turned round wondering why the back of his jeans were wet.

But it generated a hell of a lot of warmth for us to huddle round, so we let it slide.

Oh, also on the trip there, noticable that there were no animals on view following the foot n mouth epidemic, boring i know but i was involved with that at the time so it struck a chord with me.

The terraces looked like Niagara Falls at one point.

The team was excused as not being able to play in wet conditions but it later transpired that they couldn't play in dry conditions either.

Wasn't that the Mr Rodwell season??

Does anybody remember the shorts that Rocket wore in the first pre season friendly at Wilderspool? They were huge like clown pants. It was hilarious

We (me and Paul) had a cracking day. I'd won directors pass tickets at a Squadbuilder meeting so we spent pre-match, halftime and post-match hobnobbing in the directors lounge with free food and drinks. And watched the match from the posh seats. To top it off, Paul won £150 on the half time draw!

Did they have posh seats ?

Does anyone remember the previous visit.

All I can remember was that is was absolutely lashing down on the way back and I think we won 0-9 and sure it was a night match but it may have just been in the middle of winter.

2002 at a rainy Barrow remember it well, i'm glad it was raining if not they might of beaten us, the club advertised the team as a whole new breed.
The best thing about that season was the away shirts still my fav top. Oh and the arrival of cul.

Dean Hanger was only 1 of some really bad signings that season. I thought the worst was probably Matt Sturm on a 3 year contract.

It was nice and sunny in Wire that morning, thought, "stuff it, who needs a jacket?" Turns out i did, as i nearly froze to death in my jeans and wire shirt. The most dismal day out with Wire i think i have ever had.

Right up there with oldham for one of the coldest grounds
never seen rain drive under the roof like that before,
remember it was the first outing for the yellow kit and
recall that there was no number 6 shirt so somebody
drew a 6 on the back of one with felt pen ,think it was
Domic's shirt ,must have impressed the aussies.

As Barrow ticked a box last week who knows we may be
able to do it all again in a couple of years time ,suspect
the facilities will be much improved by then.
