I said in the heat of the moment after the game that Powell needs to go, though I stand by my comment when he was signed that he won't win more than Price did. Having slept on it, I do want to give him a chance to see if he can turn it around.

I can't comment on the game as it's all been said and I agree with most of it very little to be positive about. I'm still hacked off, not that we were beaten (Wakefield were good value for the win) but the manner in which we lost is pretty unforgiveable given the amount of spend, all be it unbalanced and misappropriated, that we operate with. I just hope Powell has boots big enough to kick some backsides

Powell's very much about gaining metres in the tackle, and Philbin's stats aren't great or impressing him from what I'm told.

No issue with that after half a dozen games, just that he'll have a decent contract to pay-off or a transfer fee, so not sure it's realistic that he'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Doesn't have to be a transfer fee (though it would make financial sense to try and get one). He could be used in a swap deal, or sold cheaply to make space on the salary cap, or just to get rid.

If he agreed to any move then he wouldn't need paying off either.
