Little less positive re Riley in latest story on Guardian site. Hinting at Bridge now. Looks like Mitchell will play.

Still almost certain Riles at FB for me, between Tyke and Mitch for last bench spot. I'd personally pick Tyke off what I've seen. Says a lot about Mitch when we played against Quins, he was the player we targeted from KO and got a lot of success.

Just purely out of interest, why?

I think Bridge is the best option we have at fullback.

Bridge, J.Monaghan, King, Atkins, Riley, Briers, Myler. (Quality backline)

Then mix and match ten forwards, positionally they all do a bit of everything : M.Monaghan, Carvell, Wood, Harrison, Anderson, Solomona, Clarke, Cooper, Mitchell, Blythe/McCarthy.

We'd also have the option of keeping Atkins and King together on their side, then perhaps put Joel in centre with Riley outside him?

It's an option anyway. Forwards are still formidable too.

I think a lot of us have been to quick to write off Chris' abilities this year. He's obviously been out of favour by Che, whatever the reason may be but from what I've been told he's been playing well for the 20's, he's bided his time, made no complaints about not being picked and now his chance has come.

In terms of over Bridge at FB, I'd like to see Bridge at 13 as the other options, Harrison, Coops, Big Dave or Clarke will be needed as replacement props, starting backrower or replacement hooker respectively. For me, it's a case if getting the most out of the players fit to play and I think that line up IMO would be best suited. And FWIW I prefer Blythe in the centres than the backrow hence my selection.

Our left edge has been destroying teams so would rather move Joel to centre, put Bridge at fb and give Riley his chance on the wing to avoid breaking it up. Harrison in for westwood. Come on the wire!

If Riley's FB, that leaves us with our first choice 2-7.

The nightmare scenario for me is if Monas gets hurt. We have shown recently that we can cover Morley & Briers amongst others. Westwood will be a little more difficult but I'm sure that we'll pull through because we have obvious choices. Losing Monas (And I'm touching wood whilst writing this) would end our challenge IMO.

Some teams have certain players who just can't be adequately covered especially when they're in a rich vein of form. Monas for us, Sam T for Wigan, Roby for Saints and Chase for Cas. It's just the way it is.

I'm not a big one for stats but when you've got a guy who's up there in most of them, he's got to be doing well.

Cos they are a 1 man side these days. Absolutely everything has to go through Roby.

His metres stats are unreal, because the sheer number of times he carries the ball dwarfs anyone else in the league.
