Happy that we've gone out and made changes in the half's but not like with brown rushing out had we done that we could have ended up with drinkwater!!

I'll believe it when the club announce it. Its also possible he could be coming in at fb both austin and widdop are no 6's?? Bit early for what position he plays at but there's a lot can happen between now and if/when he he joins.

The amount of posters across social media slutting Brown for Drinkwater was unreal. The margin between the 2 wasn't worth debate... to consider between them is Brown doesn't get fecked off, not offered contracts or have to go looking elsewhere from the game for employment.

I’m not entertaining the Widdop rumour until someone sees his name being applied to the side of a sponsored Ford Fiesta. Also, there’s no Boxing Day game for it to be announced.

Heard Drinkwater was not available. Widdop would be interesting, as Dezzie'a has already pointed out, he and Austin (also Ratchford on occasion) are both stand offs.

Yup... Widdop doesn't seem to have a preferred side of the field and haven't seen enough of Austin but we'll get a better idea this year. I've seen Brown do a decent enough job on both left and right in 2017, if Austin does have a preferred side to work with.

We don't have a decent positional kicker at half this year, but Widdop would provide this next year. Both Widdop and Austin are exciting runners with Widdop having a great all-round game and Austin having the edge on footwork from what we've seen on clips (dangerous assumption I know).

T’is the season to be jolly! Obviously injuries happen, but can’t we bask in the possibility that we may have signed an outstanding player with unalloyed pleasure. I’m sure there will be bumps in the road (including the possibility that his signing is pure fantasy) but in the meantime Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas everyone!

He kept popping his shoulder season gone. He was due an operation on it.

With an on-form Widdop and Austin and a fit for purpose pack, and the talented back line we have I could see that being enough to get rid of the monkey.

The word going round was he priced himself out of the market, he was selling high on his decent half season at Catalan and the rl media putting him over.

I'd heard he was asking near marquee money from both us and leeds. Dunno how true that is but theres not huge gaps at 7 around the league(talented 7s is another argument)

To be fair he would have been an improvement on our 2018 squad by virtue of having a kicking game. However if the widdop rumour has foundations I wouldn't have liked the required cap space for widdop to be taken up meaning that we would miss out. I won't believe that rumour until its confirmed but we would definitely need space on the cap for it and I very much doubt we would have got drinkwater on a 1 year deal.

I was at a club function early December and there was a (no name) buzz about a major coup for the club for 2020. Widdop was my guess at the time and still is based on these reports and if true this and Price extending his contract is great news IMO
