Tai has been superb lately. Running hard, making (mostly) good decisions defensively. Hitting well with the shoulder. Just his general attitude has him standing out positively. We'll miss Nicholson. Currie is a wall in the middle. The sheer effort when they had repeat sets on our line against 11 men and we were being dragged back and forth across the pitch and we just never stopped sticking to them. I've not seen resilience like that from us maybe ever.

Jodie Cunningham is so Saints it’s embarrassing she is a pundit on a saints game. Are they not supposed to have some level of neutrality.

Every player was superb tonight, absolute giants. My shout outs would be for Tai and Currie, centre is probably the hardest position to defend when you are down in numbers,, very easy to overcommit and expose your winger. They were both sensational.

The 3-4 minutes after Nicholson was sinbinned must go down as the best passage of defence I've seen a Warrington team put in. Communication, grit, coordination.

Yates already looks a massive addition. Walker was buzzing everywhere when he was on.

Dufty and Williams - class and quality, made every decent possession count. We are used to that from Dufty now, but his try was an absolute work of art. Contrast with Lomax and Welsby who did all. McDermott seemed to think their young full back was the new Lockyer but I didn't quite see it.

4 Wire fans amongst several hundred Saints supporters.
Really interesting hearing their views. 'Kendalls a Wire' was one I laughed at.

For me -
The ref - he got several decisions wrong but I really didn't see him as being anti or pro Wire when I look at the game as a whole. (Although some of the incidents were too far away for me to see clearly).

Pre match injuries - yep both sides have them. That's why this is a squad game. Move on.

Wire - an impressive backs to the wall performance. In particular the defence when we went down to 11 was incredible. Added to Ratch going off - just immense.

Saints - gave away too many stupid penalties. Hence we went 12 nil up. They made stupid errors and didn't respect the ball. Their attack was woeful and I saw one set play when they scored the Royle try and we were down to 11 men where they made their numbers tell. Welsby crabbing along the line looking for a gap was a waste of time. They had one extra man either side and failed to organize themselves to use it. The playmakers simply didn't do their job and call the correct plays.

However I take absolutely nothing away from Wire. The desire, the heart, the commitment. All first class.
We were under the cosh for large periods of that game but the teams character showed.

Obviously we've lost Ratch for a good while, not sure about Harrison but based on a performance like that, we needn't fear anyone in the comp.

I have been watching Wires for over 50 years but this must go down as the best performance from my club I have ever seen.

Just finished watching it again, will go to bed now but one last thing. Jodie Cunningham’s face when Wilkin ripped into Saints spine was priceless.

Ashley Klein would have just ruled play on in State of Origin. We are playing a completely different game to the Aussies.

Outstanding effort and performance last night and it was great to see. Burgess’ man management skills, nevermind his coaching ability, appear to be outstanding.

Phenomenal defensive display last night. When you think of the virtually same player group last season and how they wilted under pressure…so much credit has to be given to the coach. Glad I didn’t have to pick player off the match!
I did wonder how much we would rue letting D Clark go, but I think the Walker/Powell axils is far more effective than we would have been with Walker and the current iteration of Clark.
Big question is what 4 year old will we have to select at Centre next week…not that Sky commentators would notice they will all still be dreaming about Saints’ 1 year old superstar full back.
