I have just read through all 8 pages of this topic. And yes you must be thinking I do not have much else to fill my time on a Saturday night and basically it comes down to 3 issues.

1) It was obviously wrong for fans to boo a player playing for England. There is and can never be an excuse for that.

2) Tomkins is obviously a magnificent player and any supporter regardless of allegiances knows that in their heart of hearts, but yes there are also issues with his onfield behaviour, and for ST it is probably important he learns to address this. It is possible that he will go down as one of the greatest players to have played the game in this country but at the moment his legacy is going to be tarnished by the other less savoury sides to his game. I will not go into them at the moment as they have already been discussed.

3) this glider man needs to get a grip on reality and stop boring everybody with his completely mindless posts !

What began as a perfectly normal thread with just about everyone agreeing that it was wrong for some England fans to boo Sam has now become the usual Wire/Wigan/Saints cock measuring contest. Can we just agree that in this case it was wrong for the small number of Leeds fans to boo him (Jamie Peacock's words, not mine), and just get on with things?

Has it? It began with everyone agreeing, yeah, then the usual suspects crawled out the woodwork to defend the indefensible by making some unsubstantiated claims against Tomkins. And since arguments for the indefensible are, by definition, pretty hard to maintain, it's now degenerated into petty personal jibes. I agree with your sentiment though, it's a shame we can't simply agree that it was out of order.
