Think what you like about them both as players but those are the stats. They favour Lockers in defence. Lockers has been miles better this year, even some of your own fans can see how good he has been.

I've just sent a text in to Manchester Sport asking who they see as an 'early mos contender' they said Adrian Morley, without a doubt.

Funny you should say that as I was extremely suprised too, I was expecting Ryan Giggs or Malcom Alker.

Giggs - PFA Player of the Year when didn't deserve it, BBC Sports "Personality" of the Year when didn't deserve it. There's only one man in the running now...

James Roby / James Graham and Kyle Eastmond have been our best players by a long way this year.

Their Stats are superb, Try Jammer against Morley (Jammers are better) and try Robes against Monas. (Robes stats put Monas to shame)

Stats only tell you so much about the player. What you should also be looking for in MoS is the impact the player has on his team and the opposition. I agree that Graham is one of those players who opponents fear and respect, probably on the same level as Morley - you look at either of those two being absent from the team sheet and the opposition will breathe a sigh of relief. Roby I don't class in the same category (although ironically probably did when he won MoS), Monas I would class very firmly in that category - he is a player feared and respected by opposition fans and teams the way he is playing at the moment

Graham - 6.8m per carry
Morley - 8.1m per carry

Graham - 398 tackles
Morley - 444 tackles

Graham - 19 missed tackles
Morley - 20 missed tackles

mmmmm... not quite sure how grahams stats are better than morleys.. Morley makes more meters per carry than any other prop in SL..... infact ALL warrington props make more meters per carry than Graham.

Graham has scored 4 tries to Morleys 1.
Graham has 2 try assists to Morleys 1.
Graham carries the ball much more than Morley so you'd expect his metres per carry to be lower as he's doing bigger stints.
Graham busts nearly twice as many tackles
Graham makes less errors
Graham gives away far less penalties.

They're different types of prop and both are brilliant at what they do - you certainly can't say one's stats are better than the other's comprehensively as they both do different things well.

Same with Roby and Monaghan.

Nor is it to give away penalties, what's your point? It is one of a number of stats, which is handy when the conversation is about comparing stats.

morley is best prop in SL with ease

a prop`s job is to drive the team forward and make metres, not to score tries, the stats don`t lie and say that moz makes more metres than graham and more carries, therefore is a better prop.

The stats say the complete opposite of your post.

In the same number of games Graham has made more carries and metres (added to more tries, more busts, less penalties, less errors etc) so by your own flawless logic, Graham is better. Well done for coming round to the truth.

This is because he is playing alot more game time....what that tells me is that is that he is being used to much, which is having a detrimental effect on his performance in terms of the yards he is making with the ball.

If saints arent careful he could end up going the same way as Fielden.. a great prop who was over used and burnt himself out.

fearthevee what are you chatting?it clearly says morleys makes more meters per carry make more tackles then you go and put graham makes more meters and more tackles than morley. no offence but are you blind or cant read as it is plain obvious morley is better doing what props are meant to do making meters and putting in tackles in the centre not score tries or assists what you pointed out what is what the backs are used for. if you are going to post saying one players is better than the other make sure you got the right stats to back it up not just go on what you think as a saints fan.

Graham makes more meters than anyone and has done for about 3 years now. Morley makes more meters per carry but graham makes a lot more carries. I don't like the meters per carry stat as it can confuse people, as it has done here, over who actually makes the most meters. I prefer meters per game which gives you:

Graham 155m
Morley 126m

I think i'd better point out i,m a wigan fan and am just arguing about stats rather than who is the better prop because id have either of these two at wigan in an instant.

Also O'Loughlin for man of steel, a few players have mentioned him as the best player this season (demetriou and peacock anyway) so he does seem to have the respect of the players whereas he can be overlooked by media/fans
