No, they were Cup Winners Cup winners as that competition and the UEFA cup was superseded by a more important competition i.e the European Cup / Champions League. The winners of this competition are the only ones who are called Champions of Europe.

Same with domestic English football the league winners are Champions, those who win cup competitions are never referred to as such.

It is the same in Rugby League, so can Warrington fans please stop embarrassing us by referring to the Wire as Champions. We're quite proudly 2009 Challenge Cup winners, and the incumbent holders of the competition.

If your not lying your rugby league knowledge must be very limited. I find it hard to believe that anyone that knows anything about the game, could of not heard of Myler before he was first selected for England.

By virtue of me not knowing of Richard Myler equates to me having a very limited knowledge of RL? Fair enough.

I think it's a season too early for Myler against the Aussies and Kiwis.

He's not played a rugby league game with any intensity in his entire life. I doubt he's played in front of 15,000 people before either. No playoffs, no SL finals, no semi finals, no big league games.

A season at Warrington with the £200,000 worth of expectation on his back should have happened before he was given control of the ship for England.

I agree with that. But I think Smith knows he can get the best of his still quite raw talent out of him. Look at the France game mid-season. Admittingly it wasn't the best French side,but he rose to the occasion ahead of other well established team mates that day.

And didn't Tomkins do that last night?

I've been lucky enough to watch Tomkins, Eastmond and Myler for over fourt years.

All are very talented players no doubt, but Sam is the better defender and the toughest, something he has had to be because of his size.
Whenever they have played against each other Tomkins has generally come out on top.

Primarily to do with the strength of Wigan's junior setup.

I'm quite looking forward to the forthcoming games, because the way you are building up Tomkins, we can't lose.

Id go with Tomkins but I hope he's got a few tricks in the bag, ask old Leon..the aussies will shut him down VERY quickly and they'll niggle him to death.
