Reardon was never as good for us as he was in the early part of his career, he looked good for GB in the 2004 Tri Nations and everyone was surprised when Noble tried to part exchange him to Wakefield to get Gareth Ellis that off season, but with hindsight his career has been in steady decline since then. Maybe Noble was onto something.

No-one deserves to be put out of work permanently, but it smacks somewhat of 'lip service' that Hull sign Reardon in the very week that they launch their 'domestic violence awareness' campaign.

Its not Hull FC's campaign. It is led by NHS Hull in partnership with Humberside Police and Hull City Council.

The Strength to Change campaign is aimed at the perpetrators of domestic violence. I'd like to think that should he avoid a custodial sentence then Stuart Reardon will get involved in the campaign.

I saw him probably six to eight weeks ago, certainly the season was underway and he still had a limp of sort.

Hull as a city has also just launched a perpratrator programme working with men who have been found guilty of Domestic Violence and dealing with the root cause of their agression at the same time (the only one in the city) they have launched a DV awareness campaign . As a city we are leading the way in trying to takle both spectrums of DV both the perpratrator and the victim. So yes its lip service if you look at half the picture but not so much so if you look at the full picture.

At yesterday’s derby match a domestic violence campaign was launched by Hull FC in conjunction with NHS Hull. This campaign is the first of its kind in Europe which focuses upon the perpetrators rather than the victims of domestic violence.


Hull Fc the next day signed Reardon, who is looking at a jail sentence for breaking his ex girlfriends door down and assaulting her.
