| every missed call is possible lost revenue for the club where as a quick, excuse me to the customer in the queue would be polite then answer the call.
Basic customer services & sales. If i did not answer a ringing phone at work i would have my ass chewed so loudly you could hear it on the other side of the Runcorn Bridge

Nah - always serve the customer who has made the effort to get to you, basic politeness. If the phone hasn't been answered in so many rings it should be diverted to be answered by someone who isn't dealing face to face with customers. That's how it worked in shops I ran & always worked very well.

That was at 11am.
So hopefully we will sell 600 tickets from then till 3 o'clock, therfore 4.8k sold already then a good walk up. 500-1k. You are looking at 5.2k-5.5k.

Sorry Ganson's, but that's incorrect. I was in the shop last week, not at peak time, or a perceived dinner break time, and there were 2 people behind the counter, one serving, and one ripping the stubs off tickets and putting them in a box, while there were 4 groups of people waiting to be attended to. That's not the first time it's happened.
Every time I go in there, I'm resigned to losing 20 minutes of my life, for just simple purchases.
The ticket booths on matchdays are no better. Why do the staff need to type into a computer that I'm paying cash for a South Stand ticket?
Please note, before anyone starts, all the above IS NOT a whinge. IT'S A FACT.

| The original cartoon appeared in Punch Magazine and showed a couple of members of the clergy enjoying breakfast. The Bishop says "I'm afraid you have a bad egg Mr Jones" to which the Curate replies "oh no parts of it are excellent". So the phrase "The Curate's Egg" is the correct one rather than "A Curate's Egg" to represent something which appears bad on the whole but also has good parts to it...

| I did think of that, and decided to go with the upper case thinking that "The Curate's Egg" was the title of the cartoon, but it turns out the actual title is "True Humility". I guess I could leave the upper case as the egg has become something of a proper noun through the ages but I realise that could be a bit presumptious and will quite happily withdraw the capitalisation if deemed appropriate...
