Indeed, my assumption was that the difference in cap value between Higham & Dwyer would have allowed the club to increase Currie's new contract, Paul Wood leaving would help fund, Ratchfords new contract. Similarly, a player like Westwood may have a contract that is stepping down in cap value year on year, so he gets paid less for his 2016 season than he has for his 2015 season.

We'll never know the exact ins and outs, but the fact remains we never replaced Briers & Hodgson, my initial thinking was that Sandow would take Asotasi's place on the cap, now I'm thinking Sandow takes on Briers & Hodgsons place, with Asotasi's space still to be covered...?

I ignored Jack Hughes as until we announce it its just more conjecture, plus we don't know who else will leave to potentially make way, GOB for instance..?

If such an option exists, I and most people would be amazed if that was to happen.

i think we still have the marquee signing yet to come... Some big salaries have left over the last few seasons.. and there has been no mention that Sandow is the marquee player.

Infact... we are fitting him in under this years cap space.. so he cant be.

I agree Alffi, but, there has been a spring in Roy's step in recent games.

Whether that is due to him being so poor any sign of effort or interest is magnified or it's that he's trying to work another year, or he can see already see himself sitting in the Quanta Lounge at Ringway Airport....I hope it's the latter

Before passing comment about salary cap and marquee and how much room we have, where can we find the value and details of the players contracts listed ?

As well you know we don't have that information and only a select few individuals at the club will have it. I don't even want to know it, a persons salary is a very personal thing - I wouldn't want my salary details available to all and sundry.

However, this is an internet forum, where we can discuss topics relevant to the club and the game as a whole. I've made some pretty heavy assumptions in my post obviously, but here is reasoning behind it and seems plausible to me, I've asked a wider forum of people their thoughts on it, some have agreed, some have offered some different scenarios.

If we only ever dealt in facts, this would be a pretty quiet place.

That's just Mike Parson's view from WG. No one has actually said yet.

He could be over on a reduced contract for 2015, increasing in 2016 I suppose.

Hope he comes good for us.

I asked Moley this morning on Twitter if we've signed Tariq Simms. He 'favourited' my tweet. Make of that what you will ?

We have the option, doesn't necessarily mean we're going to take it up though.

Wishful thinking I'm afraid, he favourites most people's tweets who tweet him, someone asked him about Rangi to Wire, he favourited the tweet then went on to reply saying "No Rangi"

I tweeted him '@RLW_Mole Any substance to the rumour that Tariq Sims will be joining Ashton at Wire as our 2016 marquee signing?'

To which he replied '@Refnom95 nil'

And now Moley has tweeted that Tariq Sims is staying where he is and that Wire's 2016 marquee signing is Sandow.

I can't believe we would keep Roy for another season ,I really don't think Draper is messing when he says he wants us to be the biggest and the best , we are seriously looking to get the best players ,this will drive attendances up ,sell season tickets and shirts

This salary cap issue is brilliant.... you know were about to start putting noses out of joint when people come on here moaning about it.

Especially fans of clubs who've actually fallen foul of the cap in the past.

The salary cap has become a bit of a joke ,if it's killing super league then it needs to become more realistic

There's nowt up with the cap. Issues lie with how a club deals with it. Some better than others.
