| I would personally play Myler at Wembley alongside Briers. I think the understanding they have together is awesome, I like GOB and Ratch but I think Myler gives us alot of direction and something different. He's very underrated.

| Myler all the way. He did miss the last Wembley visit. O'Brien's time will come.
I am quite concerned about the injury that Bridge has (also missed the last visit to Wembley) I can see that place going to Ratchford.
I do hope that Grix can be fit. He missed both times at Wembley through injury.

God forbid that anybody mentions this; next thing you know is that somebody might actually make a reference to Rhys Williams looking quite fast when outpacing Atkins for his length of the field try paired with an all-round decent performance from Williams.
So can Myler play his way into the team for Wembley?
Can we accommodate Briers, Myler and Ratchford in the 17 and would this be fair on O'Brien?
Has Williams the making of a Super League player and who will this be with?'"
Oooh !! thats controversial.
Well, I watched GOB " steer the U20's" around the park, to quote our website and I obviously watched Myler as well. For me the contrast was quite stark. Myler made breaks, created space and was rather impressive first half. Then he either tired or didn't get enough ball in the second half. Which one would I currently prefer ? .... Myler. He has the speed to cause disruption to the defence and can create tries as well as finish off. I don't think GOB is quite fast enough for that role. Moreover Myler looks a natural ball player whereas GOB looks more a product of a very good coaching school, so my concern is that GOB may not make huge progress over the next couple of years. Both players now have a defensive game to bring to the party, but as Briers eventually fades, I think we need to at replace some of his creativity
Just before somebody jumps in, yes they are two different types of player, and yes he is still very young..... but Myler is hardly an ageing professional either. So at the moment, assuming Myler gets back his fitness and sharpness, I would favour him for a birth on the HMS Wembly.

| Think we need to play Myler for this one. Now Widnes are in SL they might be whispering in his ear offering him the chance of playing in major finals, which he won't get with us.

| Nobody mentioned Waterhouse post match, which I suppose is fair enough as he didn't play.
But we missed him. He does get through an awful lot of tackling, which if you are not watching carefully, you can miss. But there is another aspect to his game that I think we fail to notice at times. When he 'supports' the initial tackler, he wraps those large arms of his around man and ball and smothers the player. There is no chance of an offload.
A fair amount of disruption to the Wire defensive line yesterday came from Cas offloads (plus of course Chase and his beer, sorry I mean ball carrying hand )

Good point. On the way home yesterday I was thinking that we'd missed both Waterhouse and Benny Harrison. As regards the original question, it's Myler all the way for me, and Ratchford has to be in the 17.

| Richie should be in the halves with Lee against Leeds, yesterday both his defence and attack were fantastic (admittedly 1st half ). Ratch should be in the 17 and is our future FB for many years. This would mean that GOB would miss out which is harsh on him but it is the correct decision for the team & game, Gareth's time will come many times over the next 12 or so years. Tyke played well and tackled like a demon, so here is another tough decision for TS come Wembley. Mickey Higham had a great game and in the 1st half ran Cas ragged at the ruck.
I am not overly worried about yesterdays 2nd half performance, Rangi stepped up 2 gears and was almost unplayable, off course I would have preferred to have kept them to 12 or 14 points but we won and by doing so cemented our 2nd place.
Looking forward to Wembley, my team would be as follows, injuries & form permitting.
1. Brett
2. Riley
3. Bridgey
4. Ryan
5. Joel
6. Lee
7. Richie
8. Hilly
9. Monas
10. Gareth C
11. Trent
12. Super Ben
13. Ben H
14. Mickey H
15. Moz
16. Woody / Big Dave (difficult one for me, Dave can play in the 2nd row which gives him a slight advantage)
17. Ratch
My one error is no rotation for 11, 12 , or 13. As stated earlier Dig Dave could fit in the 2nd row or Bridgey could move to 13 to give Trent, & the 2 Bens a rest with Ratch playing in the Centre for Chris.
This would mean leaving out the following
Simon G
Woody or Big Dave
Matty B
Tyke
GOB
Coops
Rhys Evans
Rhys Williams
Not one of these players deserve to be left out and anyone of them would do a great job for us.

I like him

| Didn't go to the game (meaningless weekly rounds etc..) so can't comment to much. I've only seen super league try show, Myler looked like he was instrumental in a few of warrington tries yesterday but also at fault for Mitchel's. I would play Myley ahead of G'OB at wembley. On a side note Hanbury at widnes looks like somebody to keep an eye on.

| Nobody has mentioned Monas yet
Possibly because he was not very visible. I know he has been away for a large part of the season, but I was expecting just the odd flash of brilliance that he treated us to during 2011. So I am starting to get a little worried about his fitness / form. Micky H completely outshone him yesterday and is definitely our first pick hooker in my mind. For those that saw the U20's match, you would also be thinking that if there is no improvement in Monas, then Dwyer would possibly be the interchange hooker for Wembly (unless we use Grix). Dwyer was very impressive with his sniping runs, and he is a really good tackler to boot.

| Thought Myler played well 1st half yesterday, not many covered themselves in glory 2nd half so no issue with his performance from me. Think it will be a toss up between him and Ratch for Wembley and might depend a lot on form coming out of the Saints/Wigan games. Not a big fan of backs on the bench especially if you've got a hooker and Higham has played very well this season and deserves his spot.
I've been really impressed with McCarthy this year - he's kind of reminding me of Jones-Buchanan at Leeds (not just the beard) in that he seems to have been around for a while now and is a relatively late developer in terms of being a regular but a lot of what he does seems to be high impact - launches himself in both attack and defence. Saying that though I really hope Grix is fit & in form for Leeds - he missed both previous finals with relatively little fan fare due to the different stories at the time (Wood, Clarke, Myler) but I'm guessing when fit he's played pretty much every game since TS took over - and from the semi team I would see him challenging McCarthy's place.
Gonna be some tough decisions because how do you leave out a game breaker like Solomona if he's fit?

| Think Myler gives us an edge that O'Brien currently doesn't so at the moment would say he should start at Wembley. However i'm sure O'Brien will get his chance to play his way in. Like others had said Ratchford has to be in the 17 aswell. Unfortunately we are likely to get injuries that may rule some players out.

| There are periods in the game where we don’t have the ball and the FORWARDS have to step up to the mark, and try to control the game. It’s not all in the hands of the halfs, that’s far too simplistic, and wrong. If you don’t win the battle up front, you’re screwed, doesn’t matter who you have at 6 and 7. How the hell can anyone say Myler went missing or had a poor second half?
They scored.
We kicked off.
They scored.
We kicked off.
They scored.
We kicked off.
We knocked on.
They scored.
We never had the ball, and any player is rubbish in attack without the ball.

| Sounded like he had a decent game against Castleford, but playing against the big teams is a different proposition.
Personally I would stick with Briers and Ratchford for the final.

If Richie is fit he is the first choice 7, simple as that. One of the best support-play players in the league. Anyone makes a break and Richie is on their shoulder. His defence has become one of the best part of his game too, considering he was pinpointed when he first came to us as a weak defender. I really like him. Missed seeing him on the pitch as well.
Gaz O'B is nowhere near ready for a cup final.
