| No chance, you could stick us against Widnes in the Australian Green and Gold and we'd still get beat.

| I'm a bit "out of the loop" with Aus RL, and only recognise about half the names.
We'll do our usual, have a squad with 5 or 6 genuine world class players, and the remainder will be good SL players, but international class?....never on earth.
LG's prediction, will be the usual one.
We'll put all our eggs in one basket, and target the NZ game as a must win, whilst praying Aus beats NZ in that game
In the final, we'll be competative for a while, until the Aussies blow us away in the second half.
Hope I'm wrong, though

| NZ will announce their squad later this week. Aus v NZ test in Newcastle in 2 weeks time. With the way NZ RL is going, I wouldn't be surprised if they give the Aussies a spanking.

| Quote ="Alfie Langer No2"For the first time in quite a while, I think we may actually have a chance at beating them with only 1 out and out centre (who isn't 100% fit) and what looks like not the best forward pack I've seen wear the green and gold in recent years.
Full 24 man Australia Squad:
D.Boyd (Dragons)
D.Cherry-Evans (Sea Eagles)
C.Cronk (Storm)
R.Farah (Tigers)
P.Gallen (Sharks)
K.Galloway (Tigers)
G.Inglis (Rabbitohs)
C.Lawrence (Tigers)
L.Lewis (Panthers)
D.Lockyer (c) (Broncos)
C.Parker (Broncos)
M.Scott (Cowboys)
D.Shillington (Raiders)
B.Slater (Storm)
C.Smith (Storm)
B.Stewart (Sea Eagles)
G.Stewart (Sea Eagles)
D.Taylor (Rabbitohs)
S.Thaiday (Broncos)
J.Thurston (Cowboys)
A.Uate (Knights)
A.Watmough (Sea Eagles)
T.Williams (Sea Eagles)
J.YowYeh (Broncos)'"
I know what you mean regarding the centre spot and pack but I'm looking for "ordinary" players in that line up and can only come up with Corey Parker, big keith Galloway and Chris Lawrence and maybe Luke Lewis who I havent seen much of this year, but the rest would be massive signings for any superleague club.
but Yeah they'll probably play a couple of back rowers at prop, Gallan will be a cert after his origin displays...so maybe weve a chance there.
Uate and Yow yeh are fantastic attacking wingers the likes of which they havent had for a while.....and they have more world class stand offs, scrum halves, and hookers, in that line up than we have produced in the last 20 years.....
I worry big time

| I don't think we are as far behind as people make out. In key positions - 1,6,7,9,13 - definitely but all over the rest of the squad, I'm not so sure. In depth, again definitely but full strength first teams and I believe we can give them a run for their money.
We may have to play 'boring' rugby, dominating the collision and winning the forward battle with one out rugby to give our halves and 3/4's the chance to do something but I'm sure we can compete. In McBanana I (have no choice but to) Trust!

Clearly scared of us.

I agree. In them key positions we might be one or two deep, whereas they could go down to their sixth choice and still be stronger than us. But I think Morley, Carvell, Westeood, Roby, Graham, Wilkin, Burgess, Ellis, Hightington, O'Loughlin are as good as their forwards. Definitely.

If anyone can shut down Marshall they will have a chance, but he can be so good he's like a ing super hero. In my opinion - not the voters for the Dally M (spelling) - Benji is the best RL player on the planet.

| To me the sign of the quality of the Aussies are the players that will not make the trip over here. Hayne, Morris, Hopoate, Hodges the list is endless and they are all better than the English equivalent. Even a team full of ex internationals that have played in an inferior competition for the last few years can beat us. They could put three teams out and beat us with either. Having said all of that in a one off game anything can happen as we have just seen. Just hope that one off game is the final as we will never beat them twice.

| England will get beat but it wont be because of the standard of the players on the field. Lack of gameplan, leadership and preparation will kill them. Also, reading the players' oppinion on Rangi Chase being included in the squad, passion for the cause looks like it will be an issue too.

Can't believe you think Gallen is a weak link @ prop.
His SOO dispaly was one of the greatest efforts in the history of the game.

I agree, he was immense in SOO and has been for a fair while. He plays like James Graham, total no nonsense and direct, he doesn't know how to take a step backwards which is what you like to see from a prop.
Paul Gallen is one of those forwards that you would prefer to have in your side rather than against you.
