| Would need to be a transfer fee involved as he still has 2 years remaining on his contract.
I think King and his wife are more settled now and King has played really well under Tony Smith. I don't want him to go.

| I was gonna pose this question on the Atkins thread but I never bothered. Anyway; who would fans rather see leave, King or Bridge? I know a lot of people like to bury their heads in the sand with regards to King, but I can only imagine his contract is much heaftier than Bridge's and he is taking a quota space. With Bridge's form last year, he never let us down at right centre, whilst King was also excellent, if one had to leave, who would it be?

Quote ="JBS"The Sydney Morning Herald today says that he is eager to return to the NRL next season and suggests that the Roosters are trying to fit him in under their salary cap (see the link about one quarter of the way in). Where would that leave us?

I'm not sure od the credability of that article, I'd be very surprised to see King leave. You look at how long it took him to settle, now he's settled, it just sort of doesn't sit right.
There's a project underway that he's part of, I hope they all stay (Him, Monas) etc and finish the job off then they can look back and think when they get home that they along with Smith and the others, oversaw a period in Warrington history that they can be very, very proud of.

| I'd be surprised that the cureent, smiling, Matt King would be eager to go back to Aus, although you never know what his oersonal circumstances may be (nor am I speculating). The Matt King of the start of the season, I could have definitely seen him wanting to go.
PS
Smith has shown, quite demonstrably that he will not retain players who do not want to be here.

| Would be disappointing if Kingy was to leave especially after saying that he never breaks a contract in the past.
His form has been getting better and I am sure he would prefer to play centre rather than wing. However with Atkins coming in, it does raise a point of where people will play next season.

| frankly I would be suprised if he left but if he did it would free a lot of space on the cap. I still think as a centre though his passing is shocking

Saw him in his car about 30 mins ago beeping Woody and Higham in the car in front seemed very happy, but you never know though if they want him £500k should be the asking price.

The Aussies very rarely pay a transfer fee! In fact I can not remember one.

| It's hardly the main story on the article - had to read a few times before I saw it !
It is in fact a non story.
Roosters interested but have no space on salary cap.

| Former Storm international Matt King, who helped Warrington to Challenge Cup success last month, is also understood to be eager to return to the NRL next season but the Roosters would be unable to fit him in under the salary cap.

A fair comparison when comparing the NRL and Warrington to be honest.
