By some distance the worst in SL imo.

Some interesting selection choices to be made by Powell this week. Will Riley Dean play? Who will be the starting hooker? Will Wrench come in, and if so, will it be at centre or on the wing? Always good to have options, I suppose.

I had assumed Wrench would start from the bench and get through 40 mins or so given this is only his second game back, however that does mean one of Dudson, Philbin or Bullock to miss out so yes, interesting to see what he does.

I think Wrench is a decent player without wishing to damn him with faint praise, and one of our future centres all things being equal. Does he start? I'm not sure, as we aren't privy to the finer details of his recovery and bench is a tricky one for me with both Walker and Clark available.

I'd definitely like to see Dean given a go and his head...we need to find out if the lad can 'cut the custard'..

It’s why I added him starting I think he should, like you say we have to find out. If he does go with Mata’utia in the halves I would be disappointed except if he does that then Wrench will start. Also I’d be loath to taking a forward off the bench to fit a back in but it’s just my opinion.

Well if it was the choice of one of Dudson, Bullock or Philbin on the bench to make way - I'd imagine Dudson would be most people's choices to be dropped.

I'll be very impressed if we manage to win this game. Leigh are going very well and Ipape has started to fire to add to their already impressive attack (and defence). I did tip Leigh as a top 6 side this season and think they will stay there.

The line up for Friday will be crucial...keep any likely sin bin candidates out of the team. Leigh won't be doing us any favours.

I can't see Powell including both Dean and Wrench in the team. I'm not unduly worried about playing either of them but both, given their lack of first team exposure this season, is too big a risk. But then I don't see them in training week in, week out.

If it were me, I’d be playing Dudson 2st choice as i already have an eye on Wigan and wrapping key players up.

probably not a great idea getting 2 brand new players next to each other in the defensive line either.

I’d still go with Dean, like was said earlier I think we need to see more of him at this level

If Dean starts then it makes sense to have Matautia at centre because if it all goes badly wrong then Pete can go in the halves and maybe Currie to right centre. (Ok that could mess up the left side but Philbin could go there possibly)
Nobody has mentioned the possibility of Wrench on the wing with Minikin at centre and Matautia in the halves.

The safe choice is Matautia/Minikin/Russell.

Bullock injured again?

Well I won't be happy if he's been dropped in favour of Dudson, he's MUCH more effective than Dudson.

Not injured. Dropped.

Use Dudson for a couple of games till he gets banned again then bring Bullock back fresh as a daisy for the assault on Wembley.

Seems odd to drop your forward with the highest average gain per carry but there must be method in it.
