That's who I'd go with but I think Tony will drop Penny again to accommodate Matty Russell, T. King, Atkins and Evans as the back line

Toby King can't be dropped. He was our best player last week.

Well, with Cox out I guess TS will probably play Philbin. And with no Clark I assume Morgan Smith will be on the bench to relieve Dwyer. So that looks like Penny will miss out and either Julien or Wilde. Since Jullien has had a good run of matches this year perhaps he will keep with Wilde

Your probably right, T.King as done well past couple of games but it's got to be Evans at centre and Penny at Wing, surely he can't be that stubborn.

I'd pair up Evans outside King like in the final and bring in Penny for Russell.

That's another possibility, but as already been said my guess Penny will be the one to miss out, unless Evans is only included as an in case of thing.

Watch out for Evans on the bench!

Really don't understand the obsession with Russell though. Yeah he can scoot from dummy half, but apart from that he can't do jack.

Rest Atkins? He looked very tired v Les Cats. Three quarters Penny, Evans, Toby King, Russell?

Toby King has been good in his last couple of games, and I like what Russell brings to the side.

Evans on the wing instead of a guy that sniffs out try's and has much more speed, incredible!!!

Evans in the centre where he is an absolute beast in defence that's a no brainer!!!

What does he bring to the side besides a scoot though?

A very, very good scoot. His kick returns are excellent, he gets us a quick play the ball and on the front foot early on in our sets and takes a huge amount of work away from the forwards. Penny will try to do that, but to nowhere near the same standard.

A lot has been said for the breaks Penny made vs Catalan, he backed up well, but I think Russell has the pace to do what Penny does - he's not as elusive or as quick as KP, but he's quick enough, especially over the first 10m and would have scored the try KP scored vs Catalan.

Russell would not have scored the Penny try vs Catalans because it would not have crossed his mind in a million years to instantly sniff out the danger get on Ratchford's shoulder and scorch away. Not sure Russell would've displayed the awareness (or skill) to deliver the excellent pass back inside to Ratchford for the third either. I think Johnson, Penny and T King deserve to keep their places and I'd be leaving Evans out for now.

Penny has game intelligence. Russell doesn't. That's not to say he doesn't bring something to the team, he does, but he doesn't have the 'nouse' to read play the way Penny does. Penny is also (generally) safer under a high ball.

I think the whole 'try of the month' is worth a good think about. Firstly you can see the benefit of having Ratchford around, he has bags of top flight experience and he immediately spots the defender coming out of the defensive line and gets the ball away. Then king realises he is up against a forward and accelerates past and passes out to Penny. Penny had King and Ratchford as options when his route was blocked, the more difficult pass to Ratchford is very, very good at that sort of speed. Finally Ratchford somehow manages to get a scratchy pass away to a surprised King, who sends a spinning ball into the path of Patton.

It all looks very simple doesn't it. But the awareness and the passing is sublime, and considering how young Toby King is, you have to relish seeing him in a couple of years time when he settles down at this level. All three players should take a bow.

A decent shout this, but, and I don't think for a minute that we will see it, for me maybe Evans in Russell out with Johnson and Penny on the wings as with a back three of Ratchord, Penny and Johnson we might have a better chance of catching the odd kick and we would still have a bit of pace going forward

He also can't catch or pass. Penny runs the ball harder than the forwards most the time. Russell would also make twice the yards he does on a kick return if he was stood in the right place. he has to run 20 yards before he can pick the ball up.

Russell has nowhere near the pace Penny does and Penny is slower than he once was. Russell can not read the game in the slightest and if he had made the break down the wing like Penny did which I highly doubt... I also highly doubt he would of passed inside to Ratch. He would have took the tackle like he always does.

But that's ok.... Because he's fast and birds think he's fit because he's got a ded good rig. Lets play him over an out and out winger.

I appreciate that its useful to have players who can play a lot of different positions but wingers 100% of the time need to be wingers. Not a centre and a small stocky bloke with a good scoot.
