To replace who? Evans is absolutely killing it defensively at the moment and Atkins has his mojo back while Watkins is floundering. Obviously a Watkins on fire is probably preferred to an Atkins on fire for agility alone, but Atkins has his own strengths and when he's playing well he's extremely difficult to put down. The only thing that lets Atkins down is his ball handling, he's terrible at putting his winger away.

If we didn't have such a fantastic second row right now I'd definitely be tempted to take him and move Atkins into the second row, but with Westerman, and Currie in particular having good hands for that position, as well as Hughes and Westwood being so dominant defensively there too, there unfortunately isn't room for Atkins to go there to accommodate Watkins imo.

Wire is second only to Leeds as a business in clubs of RL..and up to last season, the only two that make a profit.

I was talking clubs including NRL, Leeds are number 1 over here and 3 including NRL.

If guess leeds make about £35k per home game more without sky, however currently sky have lots of interest in Wire over leeds and bolstered our bank balance.

I would guess that Wire would not fall too far short of leeds if at all this year.

Last year I'd have been made up with that but we don't need a centre. Atkins has been great this season and Evans altho not always in attack has been tremendous in defence. Julian can play centre and Toby king not to mention Stef and currie. Could do with an extra prop unless we get dodds back and he doesn't have any set backs.

I can say we're crying out for an out and out centre.

We ok for backrowers and props that we were crying out for last year.

Harvey Livett seems to be the stand out in the 19's with another hat trick today and certainly has the size to play centre. Any opinions from the regulars who watch the 19's ?

Kallum Watkins is by far and away the most talented and gifted athlete currently in SL

Sadly the one thing that has hampered his game this year is that the Rhinos have really struggled and that their halves have not created anything for the outside backs

Atkins has been good this year (after a poor blip at the very start). But he is 31 in October and not going to be around forever. So if he is replaced by Watkins it would be a great move for us. That still leaves a centre spot for Evans and King to fight over. Yes Jullian can play there, but he is looking more and more a BR forward to me.

He is not quite producing the form they are expecting of him. Yes, he could play centre, but sees himself in the BR (and just to confuse matters, is playing SO atm).

I will fully agree that Rhys Evans is a very good centre defensively, however he offers virtually nothing in attack. He very rarely makes a break, never passes to his winger, he gets the ball and steps back into defenders.

Atkins doesn't have the rugby brain to play centre and is hit and miss.

When there is the chance of a top class player becoming available then all teams should be looking at how to fit them in, yes there's the salary cap and current staff rota to look at, but how often do real top class players become available and when they do you should if you're able move heaven and earth to sign them.

If he available lets get him. An out and out centre who is fast, agile and big is there really a question over this?

I'd be very surprised if we could fit him under the cap - assuming we are at full cap currently.

We have Cooper coming in next year and I assume Dodds leaving, probably neutral in salary terms? Would take another high earner leaving or for us to seriously reduce squad depth to facilitate a move I would think - which I'm not sure i'd want. He'd certainly be on more than either Atkins or Evans.

Would losing Atkins or Evans, Wheeler, Ormsby & BEvans (say) cover any move for Watkins? Whats Harrisons situation cap wise this year, does he count or have we de-registered him for the season?

There are no other high earners I'd want to see leave.
