Just wondering if whoever it was who contacted the club over the "seven clubs" thing ever received a reply from the club? And it is the badge we will be running with as a club for next season (with no fan consultation? which i find bizarre)?

Also any news on the kits for next year? what colours are we likely to have? Is it still ISC and do we still have Fly Emirates?(and will this still be a nice less cluttered front to the kit with just that on?...looks much sleeker than many other kits with seven odd jumbled up sponsors plastered all over the shirts).

In the club shop last week and they said new kits should be out mid November. There was a rather poor quality pic that had obviously been taken on the sly of Sims wearing a black and red striped Emirates kit knocking about on FB not so long ago, looked genuine though.

Has anyone tried ringing the club shop?

I got shown that and it looked decent to be fair. After reading the history of the club with black and red hoops when they did that 135th Anniversary kit the other year, and the reasons behind choosing primrose and blue, I personally would support a permanent switch to a black and red home kit. It looks miles better anyway.

Launch for members is on 4th November, 7pm at The Pyramid. There was an email sent out on the 15th October subject 'Find out first' to register your interest in going, as there's only 200 spaces.

There will also be a preview of the new website, and other updates.

The official launch is 12th November at the Christmas lights switch on.

Plus it is only for Members who have renewed for next season so armchair supporters will have to wait.

That's the kit on the picture there. You can pretty much figure out what it looks like from that.

Blue and primrose apparently.

Same as Widnes' kit from this year but in blue and yellow I'd guess at.

Given that ISC have just a handful of designs, I presume it will be the big V adorned by Cas, Hull and Saints in recent years.

Hi BSW. It was me who contacted the club, back in July. To their great credit, I got a response from Roger Draper within a day or 2.

He confirmed that "the 7 shields actually represent the 7 founding members ( or fathers as we call them ) of Warrington Wolves. I think members and clubs got lost in translation but happy to confirm that this was the thinking behind the heritage element of the new badge."

Personally, I'm chuffed, as it was my research that discovered the 'founding fathers', and led to the change in foundation date from 1879 to 1876



More importantly though, it's great that the club are now at least trying to recognise the links to the past. They'll probably never do enough to satisfy someone like me, but that's more my issue as I'm probably an extreme end of the spectrum! However, things like the heritage wall thing under the south stand, the bits and bobs Neil Dowson is picking up relating to old players, etc is all a key part in the club's heritage, and for me is one of the 4 arms of presenting the club in the right light to it's various audiences: a historical institution in the town; a competitive side at the top of it's sport; a viable business partner for corporate entertaining, and a key part of the local community.

I'd still like to see some stand naming go on. I've long advocated a vote (from a short list) on this North Stand for example. But there's tons more than can be done to create these subtle links. It's something we've not done well in the past (few, if any clubs have), but it seems things are looking up.

Nice one, NtW. My name on here is what i would like the South Stand to be named. "The Buckley Street Stand" (with a possible nickname of "The Buck"icon_wink.gif for the street it's on.

Oh and name where the players get clean in the changing rooms as "The Harry Baths"!


I don't know if you're like me and would like us to drop "Wolves" completely from the club name? Get rid of the word "WOLVES" from the badge, incorporate "WARRINGTON" actually into the badge where "WOLVES" currently is instead of it hovering above the badge. We could keep the wolf's head and Wolfie but just be called "Warrington Rugby League Football Club" with a wolf mascott. That wouldn't bother me.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the kits. Just a few days to go.

I have mithered in the past to have a shirt similiar the classic Brian Bevan look, white with primrose/blue bands. Having now seen Leeds new shirts can't believe we haven't gone down that road if just for a change. When I hear talk of "the brand" I think of those shirts and "the Wire" maybe I'm just a grumpy old man now (57) but we haven't honoured our past as much as I feel we should, though the wall under the South stand is fabulous

Again this is something that crops up from time to time in terms of WHAT IS a classic warrington shirt, and does change from period to period, correct me if i'm wrong but is the one you're referring to the white shirt, with the thick blue band across the middle, and the yellow stripes above and below?

If so, we last attempted somethign similar during the custard splodge centenary shirt in 95, would that be a big seller? i don't know. Likewise a couple of people have mentioned the all blue shirts with just the W on the left breast. Again, i don't know if that would be considered a seller in todays climate.
