I've given up drinking (so anyone posting on here about hoodlums who can't handle their ale spoiling it for everyone else won't be talking about me

) but still wish to make a full day of it, so I'm taking the lad to the Hard Rock Cafe for our dinner in the afternoon.

I'm currently looking forward to my meal, but scared stiff of the match.

or an early night sulking

Ha, I went to a gig after the match last year. I'd already bought a ticket so was going regardless of result, but I didn't enjoy it one little bit.

Drunk, so it eases any pain I was sober come kick off last year.

In work next day but will be celebrating till the sun comes up if we do it.

Nice few drinks around Manchester, game, and then back to either Newton for more drinking or home to Warrington (dependant on the result)

We went last and are goin again this year to the toll gate pub. Im sure I seen kids in there last year. About 10 min walk from the ground. Decent craic last year. Apart from a few 'bad winners' from Leeds after the game

Not bothering with the city centre this year. Minibus from Cromwells at 2.30 after watchin Everton, straight toll gate, few beers,match, tollgate, back to Cromwells to celebrate/commiserate.......

Either way, should be a cracker of a day. Personally I think we will do, it hurt too much last year!!

Starting early doors. Will be at the City v Everton game at dinnertime, will head to town after for a couple of hours, then over to the Grand Final and hopefully back to town to celebrate afterwards!

Up stupidly early ..... run 'round like an excited puppy for a few hours until the missus screams "get out", loads of red bull & skittles, then hyper to OT for what will be the best Pie Dinner ever ......

Land at Manchester Airport just before mid-day. Will try to keep the alcohol consumption reasonable during the afternoon and then back to Warrington post-game, hopefully with plenty to celebrate.

Fly back lunchtime Sunday.

Wake up at about six, big match day shave with a new razor, bounce about like a child on Christmas eve then getting the 1028 train and going to the Paramount on Oxford Road. Depending on how I feel either stay there till it is time to get the train to OT or wander elsewhere.

Hopefully a Wire win then wherever the night takes me!

Depends on weather. It's been a summer's day today, but could obviously change dramatically over the next week as we move into October. Hopefully shorts - based on today - and that will have a knock on effect of impacting what goes with them as opposed to what goes with jeans. I'll consider various options throughout the week and notify you on Friday.

Current plans yourself?

Meeting brother in the Horse and Jockey Widnes at 11 and getting picked up at 12, then pick Dad up in Westbrook on the way and should be in Manx by 1 latest for a few ales.

I'm not sure why you're going to the Isle of Man when the match is in Manchester, but I reckon it will take you more than an hour to get there from Widnes, especially if you're stopping off in Westbrook first.

I was thinking of wearing a P & Y top with jeans .... hopefully no-one else will turn up in the same outfit or I'll simply die with shame

Driving up Friday afternoon after work, staying at my mums in Golborne for the weekend, I'll wear something so that I'm ready for a night out, probably get a train from N-L-W around 12ish to Deansgate, have a couple of drinks there then walk up, probably Sam Platts for a few then walk up 30 mins before kickoff, if we win back up to Deansgate, heavy night with my bro on the sauce. If we lose train back home and have a few in my old local in Lowton.

Depending on cost, train up from London to Crewe on Friday or London to Manc on Saturday morning. Few drinks with my Dad and brother, try no to spoil my undercrackers with nerves, match, then either back to Manc for several loud pints and some food, or home to sulk till the start of the season.
