Just watching the replay of last nights game and during the video ref decision for Hanbury in the second half he actually came out with the comment "I'd give a try because it deserve one"

Forget the knock on, in his view if you do a nice bit of play it should be a try.

I can't believe it took a week to disallow that one. Hanbury bounced it off Myler's knee.. twice.

Yeah, they still didn't understand fully what had happened after it had been disallowed, it took Jon Wells at full time to summarize for them.

I wouldn't have been impressed with our defence if that had been given he should have been wrapped up long before that.

Without so many replays and a camera, I think the try would have been given.I think the ball did not drop to the ground as hit Mylers leg but Hanbury regathered and placed to the ground.Need to look at the rules to give benefit to the attacking team.A try for me too and is irrelevant now.He has a soft spot for Widnes does Clarke, so thumbs up for me.

Surely you need to have full control of the football when grounding it though... This benefit of doubt thing is daft to me..

Came from no-where to deny the try another example of great commitment to the cause from Myler. Lasst night when things weren't going well he seemed to be the player who was most intent on lifting the team and the tempo.

If you drop the ball and it touches an opponent, it's a knock-on whether it touches the ground or not.

Still perplexed at the negativity surrounding Myler, yes he had average games this year but i don't recall any game in which he's been in the worst 5 players on the pitch or why he's being singled out?

Ball was not dropped it was just not stuck to his hand for a moment and grounded fine.It is a matter of a opinion and a drop is when falls to the ground.Players have fumbled and regathered before and the try has counted.We can all be biased towards your team.What has 2000 posts to do with an opinion right or wrong?

It is a fumble in my opinion even if agree or disagree it all about opinions.

I fumbled ball which hits another player before being regathered is a knock on. I called it the first time I saw the side-on shot, god knows why it took the officials so long (made it almost appear like they were trying to find a reason to give it.....maybe they thought he "deserved it"icon_wink.gif

It has nothing to do with hitting the ground. As soon as Hanbury loses control, it touches Myler, it is an immediate knock-on. The ball hitting the ground is not the sole requirement for a knock-on to be given.

I think you need to look up the basic rules pal.

I know you've been in the 2nd tier of rugby for the vast majority of the last 20 years but the rules are the same in both competitions.

i'm as big a phil clarke detractor as any on this board,but if thats what he said, thats not too bad, i've heard him and other commentators say stuff like that before, its just hyperbole. how many times have you seen a fantastic break ended with a knock on, or 10 team passing manouvre put down at last minute, it must've been said a few times about us last year with the way we were playing.
