| He's picked Ablett and Cudjoe yet he's left Ryan Atkins out lol, i appreciate that Atkins didn't have a good world cup last time but most of the squad had poor world cups. Cudjoe has been out with an injury for a fair while and he's hardly had any game time, Ablett was also out injured recently and missed games but at least he got the grand final under his belt. Ablett as a utility sub then fair enough but not as an out and out centre that would cause both the Kiwis and Aussies a few problems.
Michael McIlorum shouldn't be anywhere near an international shirt, the Wigan fans have been constantly questioning his form this year by saying how poor they have looked when he's been on the pitch but they improved once Leuluai came back on.
Rob Burrow is a shocking omission.

| It depends on whether you think Jack Reed and Kirk Yeaman are better left sided centres than Ryan Atkins - obviously Stevie Mac does

He's also included Ablett, he's been playing at left centre for Leeds this year.
He does offer some utility value in the pack but even so, i don't see him causing the kiwis or the aussies too many probs, Jon Wilkin is another poor choice, he was virtually anonymous in the grand final, never really rated him to be honest.

| Seriously, McIllorum over both Burrow & Robinson? Well if Roby gets injured we might as well give up now.
Ryan Bailey is the 5th best English prop fit? LMS, Luke Burgess & Andy Lynch just to name a few.
Cudjoe has been better than Ryan Atkins this year? Erm... Ok.
What has McBanana been watching this year???
I think I'm gonna change my nationality to Welsh as my gran was Welsh. Iestyn Harris is still a banker though! ONE LEE BRIERS!

| It's a barmy squad.
Leeds don't get a player in the team of the year, then 95% of the side make International selection, crackers.
Ben Jones-Bishop is in serious danger here of over promotion, the Knights would have been the right call for him. He didn't really cover himself in glory on Saturday. I think we're forcing one there.
McIllorum & Ablett are baffling to say the least. I wouldn't have picked Atkins myself, you don't run over the top of Kiwi/Australian players.

| As I am not one for national allegiance in sport, I may support Rhys 'running in jelly' and Lee Briers in the welsh squad over this pile of in the England team.
I have never really had a problem with the banana but picking aussies and New Zealand players over English players and then not even putting in form players is just criminally stupid!
I wish England all the best and I hope they produce something close to entertaining rugby but I may just support the Kiwis.

| Deary me its like having a version of Brian noble in charge...... Ryan Bailey shouldn't pick dog pooh up off wembley way never mind play international rugby league.... Seven players from Leeds ....wtf..?
On a wires point of view I have to agree Myler is also not international class but to not have one of our backs in the squad is a farce..... The Aussies dont have any centres , so what do we do....? We go and pick a forward filling in at centre and leave out the best two attacking centres in Superleague....
Do we ever learn...
Anyway well done Mike Cooper on his Kights call up well deserved....
Dusting down my Welsh jersey anyway and supporting Briers and the boyos.

If Leeds got knocked out by Hull or Huddersfield in the play-offs, do you think half of those players... Bailey, Ablett & BJB, would have been selected?
In fairness, I selected 6 when asked last week - Sinfield, Peacock, Burrow, Hall, JJB & Clarkson.
4 weeks ago, I selected 3 - Sinfield, Peacock & Hall
JJB and Clarkson in through injuries & Tomkins off to union. Burrow on form.

The kiwis have a ruck of injuries
A total of 12 players have been ruled out of consideration due to injury - Josh Hoffman (Brisbane), Lance Hohaia (Warriors), Sam Rapira (Warriors), Matt Duffie (Melbourne), Sam Perrett (Sydney Roosters), Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Sydney Roosters), Frank-Paul Nuuausala (Sydney Roosters), Greg Eastwood (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs) and Bronson Harrison (Canberra) plus Vatuvei, Matai and Johnson. In addition, Bulldogs second rower Frank Pritchard was unavailable after committing himself to Toa Samoa and now Inu has withdrawn.

| Maybe we're all being a little myopic here, about our own pllayers.
Let's face it, Atkins came up well short 12 months ago. Despite his excellent season for us this year, last year's letdown will have gone against him
Myler, not good enough yet, v Aussies/Kiwis. Maybe in a year or so's time.
As for some of the others, Ablett...RL's equivalent of Blackpool Rock, he's got 'AVERAGE' running right the way through him.
Bailey. Is this some kind of joke. The Aussies will pinpoint him, not for just being poor, but for his notorious short fuse. An accident waiting to happen.
Sinfield. His decent games of Test rugby can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Great SL player though.
McIlorum. This IS a joke, right?
Congratulations McBanana. You've now just elevated yourself to the position of Britains Top Funnyman. More jokes in an hour than TimVine, and making us laugh for more time than the duration of a Ken Dodd gig. DIRE. Last one out, turn the lights off.
At least Atkins will now have a full pre-season to prepare for next year

| I guess Roby is doing the full 80 then. Using a squad place for water carrier is a bit daft.

| Lefty, from a Wire point of view, only Atkins I think has been unfairly left out. IMO Myler & Harrison have not been good enough in their respective positions for a jersey this time round.

| As much as i've said Atkins isn't good enough for England, he's a heck of a lot better than Carl Ablett!
I also don't understand how Ryan Bailey is in, aside from him being a complete tool, he's a very average player. I'd have had Mossop in ahead of him every time.
