But when will we find out if the magic weekend is going to be a repeat of this year?? ie, first game of the season and at Cardiff.

Just thinking about a stag do, an would be mint if i could tie it in with the magic weekend, especially if its in cardiff!!!

It makes a mockery of the league table, imagine missing out on the playoffs because you played a top 4 team in the magic weekend and lost, and the team who finished a point above you played bottom of the table and won...

Actually the teams that played each other this year have been quite evenly matched even the Quins v Catalans was an even game at the time.

I'd love to know if there is a professional league in any other sport which has an odd number of fixtures. This is a genuine question.

I'm hoping the first game of the season is Widnes v Warrington down at the Stobart so we have a big crowd for the first game but we'll probably get hammered

The NFL. Admittedly not an odd number of fixtures, but 32 teams into 16 fixtures does not go.

They announced this seasons Magic Weekend in late August last year. I'm not sure whether they announced it that early because it was a change of venue, but it could be that early again, although if there is one, I should think it'll be in Cardiff again.

Hope they do same again this year, gives me more planning time!!!

Yes, for me, although I love to go to Cardiff, you need to pick a ground that's central to almost everywhere and a ground that you can almost fill, as lets be honest, the Millenium more than half empty doesn't look good.

The ideal venue for me in Manchester City's ground. It holds around 45,000 and has great facilities. There was an attendance of about 32,000 for Cardiff in February I think, so I reckon we could fill that.

Now we have 3 year franchising, make the 3rd year somewhere warm South of France, Northern Spain. Tell people now, book the stadium ready, offer a reduced deal and savings packages. Who can't save up a few quid in 3 years.
Have some long term plans help the game grow.

Nope - 26 rounds, 24 games, 2 byes each. Not a different sport in any case.

Either my maths are turd or 15 cannot go into 24 with no remainder. So your original point of a team could be stuck playing more games against top of the league (Saints this year for example) than anyone else, still stands in the NRL as well.

It will never be played at COM as they have a limit on events. In fact its very doubtful that it would be played at any soccer ground at any time of year.

Cardiff would look ok if people stayed and watched more than 80 mins of Rugby.
