| I don't think there was much wrong with the hit, though some others think differently. I think he used the arm just enough to rule out a 'not using his arms in the tackle' issue.

How the hell did he keep hold of that ball though after the hit? Credit to the ball carrier there.

| Cracking tackle, there was some big hits going in from both teams.
The pleasing thing i found with are defense was we seem to have more metal when tackling there was a a few players (Moz,Harrison, westwood) who where throwing themselves about superbly.

Some would think differently, e.g opposing teams.
Good fair tackle.

| Credit should go to Hansen as well, the fact that he managed to keep hold of it limited your chances at the end.

| Nothing wrong with the hit at all. It was just a desperate effort to create a turnover.
How Hanson held onto the ball I'll never know.

| I said at the time there was nothing wrong with that hit and after watching it again on tv there definitely was nothing wrong with it. Just a big solid hit.

| It's Union where you always need to put your arms into the tackle, in Rugby League it's legal to just use the shoulder.

| Was a great hit from Morley, it annoys me when fans of both teams dont appreciate good solid hits as there was some Wigan fans around me wanting a penalty, makes me laugh when some fans only see one way. Some big hits in a very intense game.

After the first two games of the season, the big hit tactic wasn't on last night, solid straightforward defence worked for us, when we started swinging for the fences thats when wigan started going through us.

Not sure. Did well though IMO. That was right infront of me that. He didn't know what day it was.

| Great hit, but Stu Fielden was the best prop on show last night.
Great game all round from all the players and a great contest. A draw would probably have been a fair result, there is not a better sport in the world when it is played like that. Hard, fair and fast.
That game should hopefully set the standard for the rest of Superleague this season.
I bet there are some sore bodies this morning.

| I agree with all the comments on this post. The hits were great but like a fellow postie said. Wigan won the game when we started going in for 1 on 1 big hits. Wigan kept to a 3 and 4 men in the tackle, slowing the play and controling the 20 min spell where they deserved the trys. Still got issues with erwood tho lol. Great game and proud to be a WIRE

I thought the same last night. Wigans gang tackling and control of the ruck was fantastic. It controlled what Monaghan could do at times.
As for the hit, I watched it back this morning and started laughing at Barries comments. He was loving it.
Big rap to Hansen for keeping the ball. Shows how tough Superleague players are. Even when in the clouds ball retention is everything.

| Check out Hansen at the end when they're doing the whole handshakes and "well in mate" stuff. He's on the floor, clutching his shoulder, he can't even get up to do the thing.
