Not wishing to be confusing, it really about who has made the most of their career? Now this maybe someone who has achieved a huge amount and been fairly talented, or someone who has had an OK career but basically talentless.

It's not about being critical, this is the inverse of those who have had huge talent but done very little with it.

I'll start...................Paul Wellens.

But here's got talent and wasted it, you need to turn it on its head.

I think that Paul Cullen was a fairly ordinary player who by sheer effort and dedication made himself into a very good all round centre/second row. He also battled against a very serious knee injury.
The player at Wolves who made the least of a load of talent has to be Jon Roper, had everything, did very little with it.

Keith Senior. Not exactly a skilful player, doesn't have great balance or great offload, but has certainly made the best of being a powerful runner.

These are the guys who apply themselves and make the most of what they've got. Train hard and have good lengthy careers, the sort that you need in the team.

This a monumentally daft thread even for here. To even get to the point of having a career in the sport the player must have consistently exhibited exceptional talent through game after game in junior, youth and academy grade rugby.

No you're wrong. It's about who has made the most out of limited talent, some just work very hard and and really make the most of what they've got. These people are in all walks of life not just RL.

I believe Morley wasnt considered the most talented player at youth level and early on. He struggled at first when he went to australia.
Now whether he had immense talent hidden underneath or just worked very, very hard I don't know.

In answer to the original question, she worked wonders with limited talent.

Paul Cullen and Mark Forster were 2 players who made good long careers out of limited talent but had the dedication and commitment to make the very most out of what they had.

Would also Nat Wood more recently who had bags of heart and was incrand edibly fit but not the most talented half back ever.

I would hope that Kevin Penny could look at someone like Mark Forster and realise that just because he's struggling to get into the Warrington team this season, dedication and effort will be rewarded. Kevin is much faster obviously, just needs to apply himself and keep learning and could have a long career at the top.
