Just what the lad needs. Few more confidence boosting games and THEN he can come back to first grade. Rushing him in created his downfall in the first place.

If he'd played last night, everyone would be slagging him off on here, just like they've done with everyone else.

And being blamed for a whole teams defensive collapse against Saints can't have helped either..

Yeah totally agree - although his defensive blunders (which you can't deny) were down to inexperience. Again due to lack of 'working his way' through the ranks.

Glad for him, hopefully a few more performance like this and he can force his way back into the first team. Good to see he has got his head down and got on with it.

The difference is when he gets a pass or two. We need to replace King for penny and drop king into the reserves.

It'll never happen, and by the way King has been pretty solid of late, although Penny does provide a totally different proposition.... excitement when he gets the ball.

Solid is one thing but on the money hes on we need far more from him....penny would be far better defensively if he had some quality centre inside him.

The lads were fantastic, a real TEAM effort, well done to one and all.
I think a few out of the first team could learn something about working together from watching them play.
maybe everyone who is peed off with the 1st team , should put their season tickets to good use and watch the Reserves for a change, you'd realise then that not all is bad in the club...!

King has been solid because hes been shoved on the wing and Chris Bridge a bloke with less than half of Kings experience has been put at centre... and he's done a damn good job, I'd have no hesitation in putting bridge and penny together on one wing.

interesting that the Wigan winger tonight let a try in..... but he scored one and made one and was awarded man of the match for pretty much those two things alone .... if he played for us we'd be saying he was a disgrace and some Aussie should have got Man of the match....

By eck, when was the last time Penny got 4 try scoring opportunities in one game outside King? I've not managed to see much of our reserves/academy, does this lad Hurst have the potential then, or what?

Well you can count multiples of them... king has a set routine he goes through. Looks outside, thinks "bugger it, i'll not bother", runs full pelt into next tackle.

best for wire yesterday and all instrumental in the last pass to kev , in order numbers 13,7,6 and john clarke . simon grix looks weeks away didnt look fit for reserves .

Two things here:
1) weren't half of Wakefield's usual reserves out of this game, being as they were a bit busy on Friday showing up our first team?

2) if King, Briers, etc. are dropped to the reserves, and then perform well, will there be a similar clamour for their return to the first team...?

FWIW I think Penny should never have been dropped in the first place.
