| I'm going to leave it for a few hours to let them all have a say and then go and have a look at the meltdown on their board for a giggle. We lost this week and yet I am really looking forward to watching the superleague show. Wakey have been improving drastically but I never thought they had this in them. results today mean that top 8 prospects for hudds and Leeds are looking grim.

| Well I left a non-troll message on their board really questioning how a team with 10 experienced season-hardened pros could put up such an inept performance.
I would really like to be a fly on the wall in Wane's office !!
Oh the joy!
I really have a deep dislike of Wigan at the best of times - particularly since Maguire / Wane came in and adopted bully boy tactics and structure, structure, structure.
No other team plays in such a 'horrible' way.
I dislike Saints - but only because they've got the 'voodoo' over us. Their play is sometimes off the cuff and unstructured but it's entertaining. We're the same.
Really funny that the goons lost so heavily !!
Let's hope it continues

| I believe Wigan has been cordoned off by police & Wane has been declared a bio hazard.
Somehow it makes our result a lot more palatable . Well done Wakey !

| Every time Wigan loses a game Wane always brings the Ref into it, can not be that the other team just deserves to be the winner.

| Wasn't taking much notice on sky sports news, when I herd the score 62 mentioned. I suddenly thought that's a brilliant final round from someone at Augusta at The Masters. Couldn't believe it was the thugs getting beat to nill..

| When the score is a lot v none, you can't blame the ref for anything.
Besides according to my friend at the game (Wakey fan) WTWC had 4 tries disallowed.
It potentially could have been 86-0

| My honest opinion about Pies v Wakefield.
I think Waney took a fall on this game all along.
He knows finishing top 2 is the be all. With a position of comfort, all that's needed is a near future win against Hull, a 4 pointer, following two easy home ties before it.
By taking a fall against Wakey he is so resting every big gun he can. Playing a near team of academy players as it makes little difference whether they win or lose. What does matter is a long rest for his 'A' listers and 6 points from the next three before a return grudge match v Wire. Which of course is likely the Pies would not need to win, but I think Waney will take it more seriously for bragging rights. He hates Wire like he hates Stains.
I think the only thing that is sickening Waney today is the gulf of that defeat. Perhaps he hoped it would have been much less, but I think he was prepared to take a fall on it hense the selections.

| Waney might come across thick but he's done the maths.
They were already miles behind Wire in points for and against.

No matter how you paint this picture, I can't accept that losing 62-0 away at Wakefield makes Wane a rugby league mastermind. I am not disagreeing that they will be in the mix this season long term, I can't see how they wouldn't be. Yesterday I think injuries, the virus and the fact that Wakey put in what was probably their best performance in some of their fans memories, has more to do with the score than Wane tactically throwing the game away. He will be hurting a lot after that defeat, all of Wigan will be, no way I can see him being remotely happy about that score line and performance.

| I didn't use the team throwing the game, I said taking the fall. He didn't purposely want to lose the game but excepted by reserving troops for fitness in the coming fixtures the defeat is collateral damage.
Not the same.

| Every team has a bad day at the office. The Goons just had a very bad one yesterday.
Someone suggested on social media that there was a tummy bug in the Wigan team this week. Might explain things.

| I am not looking to get involved in an argument, but you're going to have to enlighten me, how does the expectation of taking the fall differ from the expectation of throwing the game? Either way I am sure 62-0 was not part of the planning, in fact I am fairly certain defeat wouldn't have been part of the planning.
I take your point that they had a 2 point cushion and other games to come with busted bodies but there is no guarantee that the players who were rested will be in much better condition next week, can they afford to take the fall again with Catalans, hull and perhaps saints putting together some great form and performances. You mentioned on another post that top 2 is massive, I agree and that makes every 2 points massive and I don't think 2 points lost away at Wakefield helps in the long term, their 2 point buffer is now gone over their nearest rivals, who are really hitting form.

| Exactly, excepting a fall at the hands of Wakefield will put Wigan with those missing out in a much stronger position v the teams that offer a threat to there top 2 aspirations. Relinquishing 2 points for technical 4 pointers in the coming fixtures.
Leeds won the treble last season by excepting they may fall by resting Sinfield and blooding Sutcliffe with one eye on 2016.
Many of the games without Sinfield they lost but because of their position of comfort it was all collateral damage in the objective of winning the treble.
What was helping Leeds out throughout that period was that all the major threats kept slipping up and we're unable to take the opportunity to close the gap sufficiently on Leeds so they were able to continue to rest Sinfield and blood Sutcliffe more often than they probably thought over that period.
