I like it utility players like Minkin out for youth players, nice to see Hayes in there pushing Drinkwater.

Also think Matty Russell has been useful but if we have Thewlis, Ashton and Wrench available depending on who you play at FB/Centre rightly Matty shouldn't be near the team, but if one of these get injured he's there as cover.

I'd like to see Wrench at centre for the rest of the year, we have nothing to lose really and gives us a good view of Wrench in the position he seems best suited to, I think Mata'utia will get the nod though.

I would have put Hayes in for Drinkwater but I see that the least likely of the choice of 17 I would like. Think Dudson will still make the bench but honestly I can’t see why he should unless Chambers says show me something or you don’t get in again.

I can't tell you the 4 definite interchanges yet as they're still undecided, but the team selection has had big input from Sam Burgess. If the selection was just down to Chambers, Dufty wouldn't have played.

Find this a bit concerning tbh, if Chambers and Marshall are meant to be running it till end of season then Burgess interfering could cause problems. So if Chambers wanted to drop Dufty I have got assume Thewlis was going to Fullback, but also I’m disappointed they have still elected to include Mata’utia and the bench as not been disclosed because Dudson will be on it and that will disturb our sleep tonight

Why on earth isn't wrench in the starting 13 ... I find it incredulous that a man who has become a turnstile in defence for every opposing team is still holding onto the number 3 shirt ...when is that message actually going to hit home ... It's not fair to blame Peter I'd argue but rather coaching teams who for whatever reason seem unable to make the necessary play to drop him and try a different direction rather than the same doomed to failure approach all year and then look surprised each week

Burgess out

If Gleeson has managed to make that centre partnership look anything other than complete dross then he is a genius and we should offer him a blank cheque to retain his services.

Joking aside Burgess’ contract doesn’t start until next season so I’ve no idea why he’s getting directly involved in this years selection, another example of a very odd way to run a sporting club.

I think it’s good he’s involved, shows a level of commitment. He’s spoken to Dufty this week, so probably wants to see if there is any response, I’d say Dufty is on borrowed time with Burgess unless his performances improve the attributes that Burgess showed throughout his career are sometimes missing in Duftys performances- he needs to sort it out or he’ll be on his way I reckon.

Mata’utia, I just don’t see the point, he’s playing poorly and is probably on his way out at the end of the year. Give Wrench a shot!

Mata'utia must be picked on what he's showing in training. If that's the case it must be amazing and we don't need Gleeson let Mata'utia take the training.

If Wrench can't get ahead of Mata'utia we really need to recruit strong there next year.

Let's hope Dudson doesn't make the interchange, otherwise we have learnt nothing from Powell ball.

So ,subs not published ...we are either waiting for late injury news or there is doubt over the strength in depth & quality of the remaining pool of players. We may even see a radical approach of throwing some of the up & coming kids into the mix .
