| Williams to play halfback (If fit) with Matautia moving to centre for Wrench, are the only changes that I expect that Powell will make, for this game.

Why not just leave it as was for the Giants game.

Agree to a certain extent, but I think that Powell will want to see how the Dean/Williams halfback combination works and if that is going to be the partnership for the long term future?

| I think Matautia has proved that he is a useful boy to have about in the last few weeks. However if Williams is fit I expect Matuatia to move back to right centre.

| If Williams has recovered then he is most likely going to be first choice half back. The question, based on the preformances of Dean and Wrench, is who will make way? From what I saw of Dean I expect him to retain his place and for Wrench to lose out.

I'd have thought that Williams and Mata'utia at half back would be unlikely.

| It should be unchanged unless Williams is 100% if he is I think wrench will miss out. Harsh on him but Dean has to have another go surely, even if Widdop and ratchford were both available as well as Williams Dean would deserve another game IMO.

| I’d agree with Williams back in, but only if 100% fit - only change from previous week imo.
Starts to get interesting after the two week break, presumably Williams, Widdop and Ratchford will all be back at that point. I’m ok with Dean and Wrench taking an opportunity when injuries and suspensions dictate, but Thewlis has to stay at full back now for me.
Ratchford and Widdop to fight it out for the second half back spot.

Yeah because of the two week break, I can’t see Williams getting risked.
Powell saying they going to leave it until the last minute to check his fine to play.
Sounds like some doubt so guessing he’ll wait a couple of weeks, although George will be looking forward to a big game against Wigan

| Out of interest is Wrench classed as a centre or is he centre/wing? Not sure if like Mata'utia he's a specialist centre or more of a Utility player?

| We’ve had 3 weeks of GW in the squad and only post match Giants win, is it revealed he is injured. Warbys bread on a bus.
Our halves are good enough when the pack is good enough. Pies will have more than an eye on next week. The fixtures currently are on our side. Can’t make a true line of form with our win over Giants for the same reason we can’t against Pies. However a defeat to Pies and it shouts we are still up shiitake creak without a stick.

I'd go Wrench Centre/Wing with the emphasis on Centre, but it looks like he can shift.
IMO Mata' utia is a Centre that could fill in at FB or SO but only in an emergency/last resort and for me he's behind Ratchford in the Utility stakes. To get a go in the halves we'd have to have only one available from Williams Widdop Dean and Ratchford, (assuming Thewlis is at FB in the case of Ratchford) and at FB to replace say Ratchford, there'd be no Thewlis or Widdop available and I might put Ashton back there with Wrench on the Left Wing before moving Mata'utia back.

He was a backrower playing for our Academy and it was Lee Briers who suggested that his footwork and speed could be better used as a centre.
He moved to centre only a short while before his 1st team debut.

Yup, hence why he looked shakey as fook when we put him on the wing a few weeks back.
Like austin did for gb

| Given that Powell said the original plan last week was to play Dean with Williams I assume that will be the plan tonight.

| I'm looking forward to Dean and Williams together, I think Riley Dean put in the best wire halfback display of the season last week. The more dangerous runners around him the better we will be and Williams is really, really good at that.

| quick side note, this is the difference between saints blooding youngsters and us, maybe other teams, welsby was 4th sub for 12 months and filled in where necessary and they adjusted, be it centre, wing, fb half or hooker, and then when he was getting a starting gig, centre/wing, that's when they brought dodd in for the same thing.
Price wouldn't do that, as we know he'd occasionally use academy lads as seat fillers on the bench, but we're not in a position, especially this season to be carrying three average forwards and a potential wildcard on the bench, which is annoying when you think ppl suggest we should be doing this with ratch, have him as a fill in.
bit of a rant there, not sure it all makes sense, but it kinda does.
