You beat us 19-0 in the CC Final at Wembley in 1950. Before my time but me Dad said you was dead lucky!!

Wasn't Hesford moved to full back after Derek Finnegan broke his leg against Cas in semi final (the one that was drawn 6-6), or are the mists of time playing tricks on MPN?

Also, he gave a clever pass behind his back that led to a try.

But that doesn't stack up because it was 2 points for a drop goal!

If the grey cells are working, 6-6 at Wigan v Cas where Finnegan broke his leg, and we won the replay at Headingley. Can't remember the score, but Ken Kelly and Ian Potter were superb.

Meant to add - Then we beat Barrow at Central Park in the final.

For the record, we’ve now nilled Saints 17 times in the 308 games we’ve played them in since 1895/6. 11 of those came pre-1907, when the game was still 15-a-side.

We’ve nilled them twice since WW2 (before Thursday): the 1954 play-off semi, and as noted already, the 1982 Lancs Cup Final.
