| Far from it. I thought it was a cracking final with both sides out on their feet at the end. Unfortunately one team has to lose and the rugby gods seem to insist on it being us.

| I thought the game was pretty dull.
Stoppage after stoppage. It was like American grid iron.

| It was pretty brutal so it's hardly surprising that there were stoppages. As usual some people will be looking for scapegoats but as far I'm concerned everyone gave 100% and you can't ask for more than that.

Not scapegoats just let down.

| I don't think the players bottled it, the halves and attacking structures have been mediocre all season.
The better team over the season won and this game won. Hopefully Austin is a big upgrade on that joke who hobbled off.

BMM has been a poor signing for you, but he's used wrong. He's no wide running second rower, far too easy to tackle out wide and he has zero abillity with the ball. Play him as an impact prop and get him to run hard and straight for 10 minutes twice a game and you'd have a more effective player. He's so unfit he looks distressed every time he gets the ball out wide.

| Nothing to do with bottlers, all to do with just simply not being good enough.
We’ve done amazingly well this season and have surpassed expectations massively, but it’s time for Steve Price to be ruthless and get a half back partner for Blake Austin who isn’t Kevin Brown. Until he does, we’ll continue to fall short.

Agreed, as a Wigan fan (coming here in peace) your halves are awful. How Brown gets in the England team is beyond me. Hes been vastly over rated since he made his Wigan debut and scored 3 tries and Stevo went crazy about him. I personally never saw anything in him. Roberts had a storming game against us in the cup yet since then ive only ever seen him have shockers offering nothing. The biggest mystery for me though is why your coach had Thompson starting every game when by his own admission hes not good enough to keep next year?

| Because given a long term injury to Ben currie he is the best we currently have available. He is being let go because it's a waste of cap space to have another second row.

| It's not a coincidence, a few is unlucky, but 6 on the trot, 4 in the last 3 seasons alone is not by chance.
Warrington fail miserably to do the basics needed in the big finals. They don't have the mentality. They never did. In the CC beat a crap Huddersfield team and then easily beat a Leeds team twice who at the time had a hoodoo. The common factor was that the games were open and won early. But when it comes to the grind, set for set, taking chances, playing for field position Warrington have never had that in the big finals, and that's where titles are won.
Honestly next grand final Warrington play I'll know in the first 10 minutes if they have what it takes. Are they finishing the set properly, are their attacks organised? Are they restricting metres from the opposition coming out of their half?
It's simple, not easy, but simple.

| I agree with the posts that we aren’t really good enough to be Grand Final winners at the moment. The effort and organisation is there, in defence at least, can’t argue with that. Full marks to Steve Price for the job he has done this season. I had us down for 6th this year and never thought we’d be close to a final so we have overachieved with what we’ve got.
We lack two things, game breakers and leaders, only through new signings can we put that right.
But good work Wire for 2018, I’ve enjoyed the year.
Next year eh... 2019 year of the Wolfs

| Too simplistic to say that every time the team that loses is a bottler, but where we have been poor for a while, and were tonight, was in attacking creativity in the final 10-20 metres, and I don’t think that’s bottling. But the kicking game was bad and the clueless plays on the 5th tackle stood out. But the defence was actually OK for a Grand Final, and hopefully Austin will create a spark for next season, and not be a total nutter, as most creative players from the NRL coming to SL tend to be

Not even won half the games we’ve played outside the 8 wins in a row. Even two of those wins were against a second string Catalans and a terrible Hull.
Bottlers is not the word for this team. I’d say overachievers and a damning indictment for the rest of this competition who couldn’t even get above us into the top 4 our beat us in cup games to get to both finals!

Yeah that’s fair enough and a lot of us have said it ourselves but as I keep saying; what does that say about the rest of the league and what the hell are the rest of them all doing?
We haven’t been anywhere near the best side in the country in the last five years yet in the last three years we’ve won the LLS, finished fourth once and got to four of six finals. What the hell is everyone else doing? We’ve got and had so many deficiencies that we should be a 5th-7th placed side, for me, maybe with the odd CC semi final.
What is everyone else doing that sees us keep overachieving? It’s not saying a lot for the rest of this competition, that’s for sure!
Two very poor half backs plus a very average and unfit Thompson, an over the hill Westwood, a less than average Hughes, a two stone overweight Murdoch-Masilla, a very poor GKing, no real back-up/interchange for Clark... yet we’ve had one LLS, a fourth placed finish and four of the last six finals made!

| I thought the team gave a very good account of themselves & the difference between the teams was Tomkins who turned a very mediocre Wigan side into a champion side. He was the x factor that we are short of.

Don't think we froze. But like every other team in the League and like every other set of half backs we found the Wigan defence just too good. Their end of season defence has been totally remarkable. They've had so few tries scored against them. Very difficult to create anything against them.
Our defence is better than last year but it's not up to Wigan standard yet.

| There's no creativity at half back, end of. Our pack was good enough even though it carried an unfit BMM, our defence on the day was good enough.
Great season on the back of last year and the poor start we had, culminating in two final appearances. There were two better teams than Warrington in SL this year that didn't reach a final.
I don't think we bottled it, just didn't have the nous to do the job in hand.

| We don't have a bad team of players. We need a good half-back partnership & that should be sorted by next year (when Brown goes)
I would change the captain next year from Chris Hill to Jason Clark. We need Sitaleki Akauola to step up a gear or get another prop.

| We're not bottlers, we just don't have the key to unlock defences.
If Austin lives up to his NRL form then that's still not enough - get that 2nd marquee signing and buy Drinkwater. Those 2 together could be another Nat Wood & Lee Briers.
As for next season's captain......Mike Cooper.
