If you really feel the need to go to print just write in down on paper and then flush it down the toilet.

| I've thought it was set up to be an aus vs eng final as it is proved....
And with the poorest Aus team in 40 years and Bennett knowing it, it's set up for and England win.
Unfortunately it won't be such a big event for me....it won't compare to England's RU Johnny Wilkinson win over Aus...by a very long way. The whole country and knew about the RU world cup....it's hard to find anything about the RL world cup unless you know of it and go looking for it.

| The poorest Aussie team in 40 years??? The one that toured England in 2003 was far weaker in almost every department - to the point that they had to draft in Darren Smith in the centres. That was a series GB would have won if we'd been just a little bit better.
As for comparison with the RUWC, whilst it might not be recognised by non-RL fans, any RL fan would surely recognise an England win in the final against a team they haven't beaten at all in over a decade, and haven't beaten in a 'must win' game for 40 years as one of the greatest results of all time? Who cares if RU or football fans don't get it?
BTW I think Australia will win by 30+. Which again would sum up how amazing it would be if we actually did it....

| Cannot see past Aussie by at least 20. However if we defend like did for 70 mins against Tonga, for the full game. We will give ourselves a chance.

| The problem/difference lies in the halves. You could have put Hill and Graham at 6 and 7 and you wouldn't notice. for all of Gale's swagger, mouth and cockiness, when its comes to the crunch he's a $*******e. Brown looks good to average and if it wasn't for Widdop we'd have no flow in attack at all.

Why wouldn't Roby just come in as a straight swap, as he's been the man on the bench? Would rather be a straight swap then having another player play out of position against the best team in the competition.

Because we'll need someone in the 17 that could player hooker should Roby get injured during the game.

So that starting hooker will be a full back or a half back? That makes sense.

Well instead of criticising who do you suggest, it’s not like we have many choices, Roby can do 80 for Saints but this is a World Cup Final.

spot on, the one defence splitting pass in the Tonga game came from James Graham. Some of Gales kicks were laughable and I mean that literally, a kick that made you laugh.
He kicked one from his own 40 and it went high and landed on the Tongan 40..!! a twenty yard kick and hope at international level.
Just ONE kick landed in the in goal area to earn us a repeat set.... Ive seen Thurston do that 3 times on the bounce in a game.... its standard skills for an international... Gale is not that neither is Brown.
Sadly Matty Smith would have been the only option over those two.
We can expect to be continually pegged back on our line by quality kicks from Cronk Smith and Morgan, and wont be able to get out of our half due to good Aussie Defence and poor England kicks that wont have any distance to relieve pressure.
I don't think this is a game for Bateman or Currie but unfortunately we have no other options..... its a truly poor state of affairs/
I'm just glad we are in the Final, but we dont stand a chance..... and I dont think this is a great Aussie side either.

| Widdopp should do more kicking in general play - he does it at club level. The problem with Gale is the variability. He does a good kick followed generally by an appalling one. That probably makes the kick chasers stutter as well.

It was the first news story on the BBC 22:00 news on Saturday. Not the first sport story, the first news story!

| I’ve been so impressed with Widdop, he’s been elite class! We need his hands on the ball as often as possible and he needs to do more kicking.

Media will be all over it if we win the final, even if those responsible are fully on board with the media bias against RL (I have a mate who works for a major broadsheet and he says apart from himself they are all basically critics of RL).
It would be a massive boost for rugby league in this country if we win it.
