Whilst it's probably true that Agar hasn't had any positive effect on the coaching, the accountability lies with Smith. That's the responsibility of being head of rugby.

He has taken so much stick on this forum. Has anyone actually watched him coaching?

I agree and no hard feelings to Agar, but probably best for all parties that we start with a complete refresh from top to bottom and allow the new coach (if we get one) to put his own team in place and build his own squad (if we get any players).

Then the club can look forward to a new era for the supporters (if we can get any fans).

You can see there's a lot of if's at the moment.

The way our coach sourcing seems to be going we could probably do worse than have the teachings & sayings of Walter Norris read to the team at training by Kenneth Branagh.

Agar may have been a good coach. But it appears he was in charge and Smith took a back seat most of the time.

He doesn't have the credentials to coach a top team so he must be as responsible as Smith for the good AND the bad. With a new coach coming in he'd had no place, so, for the best.

We finished 9th and found our form against part time times in the championship.

Dear me, that hasn't taken long. He'd barely put his squash racket behind his desk and supporters from inside and outside the club were saying he had the coaching acumen of Steve Anderson after an all-day session in the lower.

When we won it was, good old Tone
When we lost it was light the bonfires and grab Dicky (as it were)

Now he's gone and it looks like a facebook campaign to reinstate him is imminent.

Look. He may have been technically a good coach. He may have a cerificate of coaching signed personally by Wayne Bennett hanging in the loo but he clearly couldn't motivate the players, convey tactics or inspire passion in them.

I don't believe we found our form in the Middle 8s at all. We may have won all the games but we scraped through most of the ones against teams who should be easy beats with the squad we have.

Everything must go, as they say at the garage sale.

Still wondering if that's a put down.

We won all middle 8 games. they were still scrappy and awful to watch but we won.

Defies all logic. There seems to be one common denominator between Wakey, Hull and Wire, and poor form following previous success or good form! yet an NRL contract is on offer.
Maybe he is just too good and others can't get to his level to understand what he asks of them ?
