You'll win it this year. Smith isn't stupid. He's seen the state Leeds, Wigan and Saints are in. He knows you can beat those teams when it matters. This is the time of year to have a tone down, rest a few players who aren't fit and ensure that everyone in the squad who could get called upon has had plenty of game time. They'll never admit it, but you can bet training has been relaxed the last few weeks, with less prep work for games. You look a bit clueless without Sandow, but that's to be expected. A win every other game is enough for you to finish in the top 4 and probably top 2. Catalans will not keep up their run (And if they do they will burn out dramatically in the 8s), Widnes are on their way down the league, Leeds and Huddersfield have too much ground to make up. Saints aren't going to make the top 4. It's still set up perfectly for you.

But you know what? I'm loving SL this year. No side can guarantee a victory like they used to. The cap is working well. We just need better young players entering the system than we get currently and things would be looking good.

He did indicate that training intensity will be looked at and ramped up in the next few weeks.

Yes we are still top of the league but you can't help feeling a little perplexed at the last 2 losses.
One at home to the worse Saints team in SL history (no disrespect). Another to the competitions bottom side where we have failed to score a point, I'm not including the narrow Hull loss in the crazy Easter program.
Granted we have lost Sandow for a few weeks and we have a few more missing but to me with less mistakes and a bit more application we win those games comfortably.
I just hope the Tony Smiths statement this week about ramping up intensity in training does something. As the next two games are tough local derbies against teams out for revenge, not to mention Wakey away after that who are bang in form..
