What is your best ever or favourite memory of an away game/s.

I have three that standout but I'll just post the one for now in case mine mirror that of other posters.

The away game under Cullen v Pies when although we got beat we didn't shut up chanting "Barmy Army" for the full 80 mins and some.
The Pies tried to drown us out with the tannoy system, and in a true Wire fan fashion we dug our heals and sang louder and longer.

Privileged to have been there with all you fans on that night that chanted your hearts out and went the next day without a voice.

Leeds away in the playoffs 2006, 'that drop goal', especially as we'd gone there 3 weeks earlier and had 50 put on us. Quality night

Either that Leeds away or Saints away in the playoffs 2012. Magic.

Not an away game as such but the cup semi win v Wigan in 2009 was special. Hicks scoring and putting the game to bed was a wonderful moment!

Halifax Challenge cup 93/94.
Saints at Knowsley Rd also 93/94, I've never been in an away end that has gone so crazy when we scored the clinching try.. Awesome..

bradford away in the cup quarter finals..memories a bit vague but it could of been 89-90 season the year we went wembley...they delayed the kick off cos there was loads of wire fans stuck in traffic on motorway...and of course the one mentioned by builth wells wire..the look on the wigans players faces every time bish knocked a dg over was something to savour..and of course sir les putting the frightners on every wigan player...happy days

Saints away last year was good, the best moment being when the big screen showed the hub cap being put back into the box! very funny!

A few others of mention

Stains. Regal Trophy 93/4. Mackey and Shelford weaving their magic. Even got my ugly mug on telly. Had strangers coming up to me in Time Square that night saying they'd seen me on the box.

Cas, the same season. Stood next too a Yarkshire gorilla in the Cas end, whilst singing TF and the Wire, when another Yarkshire bloke said to me "I wudnt sing that if I were thee. That" bloke thur bit 'alifax fans nose off laz week " Carried on singing , and we won a great game. Then, all the Wire fans started singing "love off, Stevo" for the cameras, as Sky used to show highlights on a Sunday night then. Superb atmosphere.

Leeds in November '88. ET getting the pee took out of him. Blake superb. Snow everywhere.

Wigan. Any 80 or early 90 victory (particularly Mackey's debut in 89)

Sir Les' finest hour in a Wire shirt (literally, came off at 60 mins, but had Sorensen in his top pocket)

Most of the good ones have been taken, but one belter was the televised cup QF at the Willows when Alan Hunte scored in something like the ninth minute of injury time (when it still was inuury time) to win it. We'd been pap all game but well worth it to see the faces on the home crowd.

Leeds playoff 2006 has to be my all time though.

The win against Wigan when Briers kicked 4 drop goals was amazing! (I think it was 4 anyway, I'd had a few that night so might have dreamt it!) Don't think we'd beaten them away for years before that win as well.

Leeds away in the league 1986/7, when we won 54-16 and would have clocked up 60 odd had Bish brought his kicking boots.

The pack (Mark Roberts had a field day) were utterly ruthless and Andy Greg had so much space as a result we ripped them to shreds. Joe Ropati was unplayable and the entire team were an effortless, finely honed machine.

Given the chance (we didn't get a game) we'd have pushed the touring kangaroos close at that time, such was the majesty of it all.

Any basically, any result at Central Park.

The Bradford game was that season. It was the quarter final and it was freezing. The heavens opened at half time and everyone got soaked. Jacko got Mom. Great day.
My personal favourite was the 1974 CC Final at Wembley. Not a great game, but the first time we had lifted the Cup in 20 years. One of the great Wire sides.

A few games over the years get a bit cloudy. ..but this one I can remember so well, I could go and point to the step I stood on that day. ...(if the ground was still there)

I did like the final as well at Elland road. ...

One of the best i remember was the sheer relief after we beat Halifax to ensure we didnt get relegated a year or so before we moved to the HJ.

Another good one was Bradford away 2005 (for the youngsters, Bradford were a top side then) with a certain Mr Bridge - recently of that parish - playing at stand-off and scored 20+ points

I seem to remember the Bulls were ahead at half time and into the second half, but then out of nowhere we totally blitzed them with 25 minutes of flawless rugby. 24-44 in the end.

Saints away 2012 playoff.
Wigan away playoff last year, even though we lost it was a great game and the atmosphere in our end was amazing.

Was just about to mention that one Cat. Can't believe nobody has mentioned the drubbing of Widnes when we relegated them in 2005?

Only being 19 I don't remember some of these games that have been mentioned. My favourite away game which I have attended is either Saints in the playoffs 2012 or Hull away in 2011.

Easily our play off victory against Saints in 2012, which took us to our 1st G/F.
We lost the 1st round to Saints at the HJ and then beat Hull at the HJ.
Then we were 14 - 6 down with just 3 minutes of the 1st half remaining. Woody was being held by 3 in the tackle and somehow managed to get an offload to Monas who passed onto Lee. Lee got the ball out to Simon Grix who was on the burst and took the score to 14-12.

In the 2nd half Joel went up for the high ball and dropped it but it went back , Joel simply picked the ball up and placed it over the line. Thaler went to the VR who gave the try. Then 2 Trent tries took us to 28 -14 up. Wilkin did a high tackle on Super Ben who was heard on Camera saying to Wilkin 'that didn't hurt' whilst shrugging his shoulders.

Yes that was an amazing night. There was about 6000 Wire fans there that night, a great effort for Friday night.

Remember Atkins 1 on 1 ball steal in that game. He was immense for us that season.
