Wire were tremendous v Saints.
Also the Wire faithfull were tremendous in the stands.
For around 3 hours before kick of we sang the place down.
The players must have heard that intensive chanting as they prepared.
Would it be fair of me to say that such support would have a psychological effect on our players and get them pumped?
I think we played a part as 18th Man today.

I wouldn't attribute the victory to that because I've been to many Wire games where the Wire fans have made a right racket before, during and after the game, and the team has still played rubbish.

WidnesJohn (or WidnesToilet as he's more appropriately known in the USA) is right to feel pleased after a good showing by his team and fans yesterday. But he knows as well as anyone that the fixture list has been kind, and that his team were shown up badly on Good Friday. And certainly they will be again if they make it to the eight.

Back on topic, it was certainly a source of pride from here in Foreign to see our fans building the atmosphere way before our game kicked off. I've no doubt it gives a boost to the players, even if - as Sal rightly says - it's only a minor factor and a good support base wont make up for a crap team. We definitely need that sort of vocal support at home though.

Not a Wire fan, but glad to be in the Warrington end. The atmosphere was fantastic and a credit to your club. Took my daughter, and she loved the atmosphere and the nature of it, like most other clubs fans who joined in.

Talking about the rugby, what a performance especially in the first half. Hardly any penalties or mistakes, and you gave Saints no possession and more importantly territory.

I was sat near the players tunnel and actually you weren't that loud - when you are in the middle of something you might have thought it was great, but really it was a bit lame. That French chant just came across as a drone. Something slightly annoying. Of course if you were having a good time then good for you. But chanting the same thing monotonously/endlessly and thinking that creates a 'tremendous' atmosphere and has any effect whatsoever on the performance of your team makes you seriously deluded.

You won because Saints didn't compete - simple as that.

Well i've watched the game back and i could hear us come across well on the tele and the Sky team all commented on us. That only happened with two sets of fans all weekend; us and Widnes.

Stop being so perverse.

I went the games with my brother and a wigan fan friend.

We came up with the compromise we had to sit with Wigan fans and he had to sit with Wire fans
Guess who he thought had the loudest fans under gritted teeth?

Oh and for thise that didn't go Saturday. A Wigan fan can not criticise for only having a perceived one song.
